Christina and Ant Anstead announced their separation in September 2020. According to TMZ, Christina shared a photo of the couple walking on the beach on her Instagram account. In the caption, she wrote, "Ant and I have made the difficult decision to separate. We are grateful for each other and as always, our children will remain our priority. We appreciate your support and ask for privacy for us and our family as we navigate the future."

Why did Christina and Ant split up? It turns out that the couple wasn't doing well after they had their son Hudson. According to People, a source explained, "After the baby, they started having conflicts." Being able to "balance everything" wasn't working and Christina was "lonely."

It definitely sounds like the divorce was Christina's decision, as judging from what Ant posted on Instagram, perhaps he was willing to keep trying. On September 26, 2020, he posted, "Anyone who really knows me knows that I don’t like to share private matters publicly. I have remained silent while holding on to hope. I never gave up on us. I pray Christina’s decision brings her happiness." Us Weekly says that Christina noted "irreconcilable differences" as the reason behind the divorce. It's also very sweet to see Ant wishing Christina "happiness" as he does seem like a genuinely nice guy, from what fans have observed on TV.

Ant and Christina Anstead seemed like they were living in a happy love bubble on Christina On The Coast. They got married on the show and surprised their friends and family with their wedding, which was fun and emotional to watch, and they had their baby Hudson in 2019.

They were a lovely blended family, as Christina as two children, Taylor and Bryaden, from her marriage to Tarek El Moussa and Ant has a son named Archie and a daughter named Amelie. Fans of the HGTV show will recall watching the couple move into their massive dream home as they wanted to make sure that it would be a place for their family to make happy memories.

According to Us Weekly, Christina always looked back fondly on the early days of her romance with Ant. In October 2018, they had been together for one year, and she wrote on Instagram, "A year ago today @ant_anstead called me for the first time and we spoke for 29 mins two days later while he was at Sema he FaceTimed me (I was thinking who FaceTimes) anyways I answered and we spoke for 2.5 hours … two days later we met for the first time and we’ve been inseparable ever since. #FATE.”

Right now, Christina is definitely focused on feeling better, and she has been open with her fans about what she's going through. She shared on Instagram that she didn't imagine getting divorced twice.

According to People, Christina wrote, “I never thought I would have one divorce let alone two. I never thought I would have 2 baby daddies - but sometimes life throws us curve balls,” she wrote, adding that “instead of getting stuck in these 'setbacks' I choose to use look at these challenges as opportunities to grow.”
She continued, “So while some may judge me and throw around rumors about me, most of you support me. And that says a lot about this world and where we are headed." Christina also shared that she has dealt with anxiety and that while people might seem to be living totally flawless lives on social media or TV, that's not true. According to In Touch Weekly, the former couple is focusing on custody as they work out the details of their divorce.

Christina and Ant would like to have joint custody of their son Hudson. Because they aren't asking each other for any spousal support, it does seem like the divorce is fairly civil.
