Part of us really wishes that Jennifer Lawrence and Larry David were together.

Sure, there's a massive age-difference and it might visually look a little odd... but it would be fantastic. After all, both seem to have stellar reputations in Hollywood and are downright funny.

Jennifer is weird-funny... You know? The type of young woman who told her classmates that she had a wooden leg. While Larry, along with his best friend Jerry Seinfeld, is responsible for writing the greatest sitcom known to humankind.

But, alas, it was all just a bit of hype. Or, at the very least, an unfulfilled crush.

How It All Started...

Jennifer Lawrence is all about revelations. Whether it's what she does when she's nervous or who she has a big crush on. Back in 2014, she made huge waves when she announced that she had "below the belt" feelings for Seinfeld co-creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star, Larry David.

During an interview with VF, Jennifer announced her biggest celebrity crushes. But they weren't as obvious as some would imagine. It's clear Jennifer is attracted to more than just conventional good-looks like a Chris Hemsworth or Idris Elba type.

Yep. The social assassin is her man.

"I'm in love with him, and I have been for a really long time", she said.

“I worship Woody Allen, but I don't feel it below the belt the way I do for Larry David.”

"Maybe she's referring to her knees" Larry David responded when he was first made aware of J-Law's crush during his interview with The New Yorker's David Remnick.

LD was obviously flattered. How could he not be? Jennifer Lawrence is an absolute babe. One of the greatest talents of her generation. And remarkably likable...

"Smart kid" Larry told Remnick somewhat awkwardly. "It's a shame that I'm about 40 years older than she is."

Larry went on to say, “I don't think I could do it. On one hand, it's very flattering and on another hand, it's kind of a shame—in terms of timing.” And then... "I'd have fun watching the reality show of it, though."

Oh, boy, wouldn't we all!?

The Plot Thickens...

In 2015, the plot absolutely thickened. When she went on Late Night With Seth Meyers, Jennifer went into more detail about her crush on Larry David... But not before mentioning that she had a huge crush on Seth Meyers as well.

During her interview with him, Jennifer claimed that her attraction to Seth blossomed when she hosted Saturday Night Live years ago. After working with Seth for a week, she wondered if he was going to ask her out. Given how she felt there was a spark, she was surprised that nothing happened.

So, Jennifer went to someone in the wardrobe department and told her that she was going to ask Seth Meyers out herself... It was then she found out Seth was engaged to the woman he's been married to since 2013.

After she and Seth laughed about this uncomfortably over a glass of wine on his show, he probed her about her love of Larry David. A person who Seth didn't appear to be happy to be lumped in with.

This is when Jennifer claimed that she gave Larry David her number when she bumped into him at an industry event. ...But he never called her.

Two years later, Larry addressed the interaction he had with Jennifer when she handed him her number. Coincidentally, he was also on Late Night With Seth Meyers... And he had a bone to pick with him...

"She sat right here and she said she had a crush on you and she also said she had a crush on me. When you heard that she had a crush on me as well, you seemed quite displeased that we were lumped together, as if that detracted from the ego trip that you were on."

Larry continued by saying, "I’m not gonna lie, it would have been better if it was just me. When she said you, I too was disappointed."

Seth wondered if Larry would have felt better if Jennifer had lumped him in with George Clooney instead. To which Larry said,  "I don’t want George Clooney in the picture either, I want it [to be] just me. To me, it takes away from the crush if she’s mentioning other people. How special is it then for me? It’s not that special. You got a crush on me? You got a crush on him? No good. I want the big crush."

Apparently this perspective stuck with Larry as he soon bumped into Jennifer Lawrence again at Amy Schumer's wedding in 2018.

In an interview with Stephen Colbert, Jennifer claimed to have flirted with Larry over the course of the entire night. But the feelings weren't reciprocated. In fact, Jennifer said that it was "completely one-sided".

Oh well, it seems like both major stars have moved on and found new romantic interests.
