Aside from the two wedding ceremonies, there were also several celebrations held in the lead up to and after they have exchanged their vows.

Chopra and Jonas flew to Mumbai just one week after Thanksgiving to kickstart their celebrations. It all started with the Puja, a prayer service that was held in the home of Chopra’s mother. “It's to bring good energy, asking for the gods and goddesses to welcome the union of the couple,” Shawna Gohel, the CEO of Maharani weddings, explained while speaking with The Knot.

The Mehendi was immediately followed by another pre-wedding ceremony known as Sangeet. “At our wedding, both of our families came together to perform a Sangeet,” Chopra wrote in another post. “A performance (dance-off competition style) that celebrated our love story, one of the most unforgettable moments from a very special time in our lives.” The even was such a big hit that it even inspired the couple to create a show based on this ceremony. Chopra revealed, “[Nick] and I are excited to announce a new, currently untitled project (we're still working on it!!) that celebrates the love and magic that comes from friends and family that join together through music and dance the night before a wedding. It's our #SangeetProject.” In addition, the couple also participated in a haldi ceremony wherein Jonas got smeared with turmeric paste.
