8 They Met In 2014
The couple first met in 2014, and surprisingly, Shumpert was not interested. Speaking about it, Taylor admitted that she initially played hard to get. The actress said:
"I didn't like him at first," she said. "When I first met him, he had just gotten drafted. He was young and doing a lot. I was at a party. He was drunk and had his shirt off. It was just too much going on, baby."
But for Taylor, their first meeting was not enough reason to completely write off Shumpert. They eventually became friends, bonded over the hurt of their past relationships, started dating, and the rest they say is history.
7 Their Proposal Was Unconventional
Hollywood proposals are anything but regular, but Shumpert and Taylor took theirs to another level. The couple got engaged at their royal-themed baby shower held in November 2015, just before the Thanksgiving holiday. During a 2016 interview on The Wendy Williams Show, Taylor surprisingly called Shumpert her husband, revealing that the couple had, in fact, tied the knot secretly earlier that year. Though she shared very little details about the intimate event, Taylor gave fans a glimpse when she took to Instagram, sharing photos from her and Shumpert's special day. Interestingly, the pictures saw them rocking matching cranberry leather jackets, further sealing the fact that Shumpert and Taylor are far from being a regular couple.
5 Taylor And Shumpert Have Two Daughters
In their six-year-long marriage, Taylor and Shumpert have welcomed two daughters, Iman Tayla "Junie" Shumpert Jr, born in December 2015, and Rue Rose Shumpert, whom they welcomed on September 8, 2020. Since becoming parents, it is not uncommon to find Taylor and Shumpert gushing about how much they love their kids. “As if bug didn’t soften me enough… Rue—Rose to the occasion of melting my heart,” Shumpert proudly captioned an Instagram picture of Rue shortly after her birth.

Taylor broke the internet in 2016 when she appeared as the star in Kanye West's Fade music video, just eight months after welcoming her first child. The video featured Taylor and Shumpert sharing a passionate kiss in a steamy shower scene.
