Hilary Duff became a household name when she landed the lead role on Disney Channel’s Lizzie McGuire, which ran from 2001 to 2004, spanning two seasons and The Lizzie McGuire Movie, which grossed over $55 million following its release in 2003.

When the show ended, Duff went on to have a very successful career in Hollywood, starring in movies such as A Cinderella Story, The Perfect Man, and Cheaper By The Dozen - and while her stardom continued o rise, fans didn’t really hear much of her former co-stars from the teen comedy that made her famous.

With a reboot in the works on Disney+, many are wondering whether some of its cast members remained friends with Duff after the show ended since there were never any photos to suggest that the actress remained in contact with her cast. Here’s the lowdown.

Is Hilary Duff Friends With Lalaine?

According to Lalaine, who played Miranda Sanchez, lost all contact with Duff after her sudden absence from the last episodes of its final series.

Fans were baffled by her disappearance, with show executives claiming that the actress had gone “on vacation” with her family, according to Huffington Post, but interestingly enough, she never returned to the series - nor was she featured in The Lizzie McGuire Movie.

It didn’t seem as if Lalaine had a bad relationship with the network considering that she went on to star in the 2003 Disney flick You Wish while also performing on Radio Disney Tours in front of thousands of fans.

Taking all into consideration, it was then led to believe that Lalaine had a rift with Duff and other cast members, subsequently resulting in her abrupt departure.

In a 2015 interview with Huff Post, Lalaine set the record straight that she didn’t leave the show over a feud, nor did she have any bad blood with Duff.

She did admit to no longer being on speaking terms with the latter, but it wasn’t over any personal matters. ”It’s probably best that we lost touch during those times I went through, and I’m in a completely different place now, which is why it was so awesome that I felt good when I saw [Hilary]."

In April 2015, the two reunited at an LA gathering, alongside Jake Thomas - who played Lizzie’s brother Matt McGuire - which Lalaine says was the first time she had seen Duff in well over a decade, and while they weren’t close before the get-together, they quickly exchanged numbers and are now frequently texting each other.

"[Hilary] and I exchanged numbers," Lalaine gushed.

"She texted me a couple times, and it’s such a trip to randomly see her name pop up on my phone now. It’s like, yeah, we may not have spoken for 14 years, but somehow it’s one of those things where it’s probably gonna just pick up where it left off.”

Lalaine has since been confirmed to reprise her role in the forthcoming Disney+ reboot of the hit show.

Did Hilary Duff Stay Friends With Adam Lamberg?

While Hilary Duff’s career continued to expand with a successful run in music, her former co-star, Adam Lamberg, who played her BFF David ‘Gordo’ Gordon, landed roles on a couple of low-budget films, including 2005’s When Do We Eat?, before his acting career would take a complete stall in 2008.

What fans didn’t know was that Lamberg had been studying Geography and graduated with a bachelor’s degree that very same year, which would explain why he didn’t work on many projects - he was busy pursuing higher education.

Nonetheless, after his film Beautiful Loser, Lamberg completely disappeared from the limelight, having only returned to acting to take part in the forthcoming Lizzie McGuire reboot.

During a Q&A session on his Tumblr account in January 2014, Lamberg opened up about who he had stayed in touch with after Lizzie McGuire concluded, and to nobody’s surprise, he hadn’t spoken to anyone from the show since their final taping.

"Not really, I was older than most of the other kids on the show so we actually got a long [sic] but kept it just co-worker like,” he wrote. “Not like let's hang out all the time. And I'm actually kinda bad at staying in touch with people in general so.."

Both Lalaine and Lamberg are returning for the Disney+ reboot, along with its former stars Jake Thomas, Hallie Todd, and Robert Cerradine.

An official release date for the new series has yet to be announced, but the show is already said to have been in development since last summer, so fans should be hearing some exciting news very soon.
