Paris Hilton and Ivanka Trump around the same age, and given both of their "socialite" statuses long before Ivanka's dad entered the White House, fans (or critics) might wonder whether the two are — or ever were — friends.

As it turns out, a lot of Ivanka's pre-presidency connections have fizzled out. Many celebrities have distinct opinions about Ivanka and her dad. For example, celebs like Lisa Rinna have been throwing around the term "Karen" when referring to Ivanka.

And though Ivanka once dated a star from 'That '70s Show,' he's since made it clear that he does not agree with his ex's family's political views.

And as '90s kids will recall, Paris Hilton hasn't always been known for her authenticity or propensity for maintaining genuine friendships, if her BFF-seeking reality show was any indication.

But Paris Hilton has long been part of the Trump camp, notes Insider. She has known Ivanka since childhood and was even part of her BFF's family's modeling agency.

The heiress used to party with Ivanka, confirms Insider, and photos seem to confirm that fact. Hilton was reluctant to voice political support for the presidential candidate back in the day, though. Glamour quoted Paris as saying "I never said that I voted for him... I was asked if I liked him. I’ve known him since I was a little girl. But I never said I would vote for him."

But followers of the nearly 40-year-old Hilton will also recall that her family owns a hotel chain, just like the Trumps, so they no doubt ran in the same social circles anyway. As for the current state of their friendship? Probably not as close as those hard-partying days.

After all, Paris hasn't really settled down; she's still busy being an influencer, but she and her boyfriend Carter Reum don't have kids and they definitely don't hang out anywhere near Washington. As for Ivanka — who has three kids, a husband, and a high-profile, high-pressure gig at the moment — her daily life is likely very different than Hilton's.

And in an Access Hollywood interview on a red carpet back in 2017, Paris said that though she hadn't been in touch with Ivanka recently, she thought that her former friend was "beautiful and elegant and really handling herself well" in Washington, DC.

Hilton also added that she 'couldn't imagine' the amount of pressure that Ivanka was under at the time, ostensibly during the early days of her father's presidency. It would be interesting to hear Paris' thoughts today, especially given her recent claims that the whole ditzy-blonde persona of the 2000s was just a farce.

Maybe the Hiltons will be the next socialite family to climb the political ladder rather than just the economic one.
