It started off as a sitcom celebs like William Shatner would turn down to guest star, however, soon enough, the sitcom became among the elite on TV, turning into one of the most expensive shoots in all of TV. Jim Parsons Personal Life Tragedies Caused The End Of Big Bang Theory

Although he was thriving on-screen as Sheldon, things were very different behind the scenes for Jim Parsons. The actor was dealing with several tragedies on the road to his decision, one included the passing of his dog.

"I was exhausted, and I was really upset about one of our dogs was getting really at the end of his life around then," he said. "I'll never forget that walk around the park to let him go to the bathroom before we went for the commercial shoot. He just looked so bad, and I was so tired, and (my husband) Todd was like … 'we gotta go, we've scheduled this, they've fit everything around your schedule.' And I just started crying."

Parsons called the moment and end of an era and as if that wasn't hard enough to deal with, he would sustain an injury during his time on Broadway. "It was the scariest moment for the next couple of days, cause I didn't know … I felt like I was at the edge of a cliff, and I was teetering, and I saw something really dark below, between the death of the dog and … I don't know what they would've done if I couldn't have gotten back on for the play. But I did."

The final factor for Jim was his age - Parsons took into account that his dad passed at 52, he's currently 49. Clearly, the actor was emotionally drained and more than ready to say goodbye.

Kaley Cuoco Is Very Much Open To A Reboot Or Reunion

Unlike Parsons, Kaley Cuoco was extremely blindsided by the ending of the show, anticipating a 13th season. The actress took the decision hard, however, she has completely thrived since the sitcom came to an end thanks to her brilliance in The Flight Attendant.

Regardless of the success, Cuoco hasn't forgotten about the sitcom and is still very much open to a reboot or reunion. "I would definitely be open to some sort of reunion show. I can't wait for the Friends one, and so I'm definitely open to doing one ourselves as well. It does still feel like yesterday that we wrapped. I think everyone is kind of trying out their new paths and seeing what their next project is, and I'm excited to see how everyone flourishes."

As it turns out, the cast is indeed reuniting, however, it isn't for a reboot.

The Cast Recently Got Back Together... But A Reboot Is Not In The Works

Jim Parsons has agreed to a reunion... but not that one fans would've hoped for. Nonetheless, it is still really cool that a behind the scenes book is in the works, detailing the behind the scenes of the show.

"Ever since The Big Bang Theory signed off in May 2019, fans have been asking for a reunion, and come October, they will have it, in the form of The Big Bang Theory: The Definitive, Inside Story of the Epic Hit Series," author Jessica Radloff said.

As for a reunion, Parsons hasn't said much, especially given how early it is. Nonetheless, he doesn't seem to be completely against it but for the time being, he's committed to work on different projects.

Melissa Rauch said it best, it might be too early for reboot talks, “I think [the show] ended at the perfect time,” she explains, “and I think the writers just did such an amazing job with that finale.”

Nothing is in the works at the moment but never say never for the future.
