While most of us saw this coming, reports claiming that Kim Kardashian is gearing up to file for divorce from her estranged husband Kanye West has stunned Keeping Up With the Kardashians fans, as insiders claim the two are now said to be battling over custody rights over their four children, North, Saint, Psalm, and Chicago.

And while things are bound to turn nasty in court, depending on how the two settle their share of assets, many people have turned their attention to Kardashian’s former BFF Larsa Pippen, pondering whether she could’ve been linked to the reason behind Kimye’s split.

Over the summer of 2020, the famous family dumped Pippen as one of their close friends, and while they never spoke out about their reasons for wanting to keep their distance from the socialite, it’s been suggested that her close ties to West may have had something to do with it.

Is Larsa Pippen Friends With Kanye West?

While it’s unclear whether the two are still on speaking terms, Pippen revealed back in November 2020 that she was pretty close to the “Good Life” rapper, who she claimed would constantly phone her at 4 am in the morning to rant about his problems.

But why didn't West just talk to his wife about the things that were troubling him?

“[Kanye] used to call me at four, five, and six o'clock in the morning. I was the person that would take his calls when he wanted to rant. I would listen to him,” she told the Hollywood Raw podcast.

The 46-year-old then went on to assert that while she would often find herself trying to comfort her friend’s husband with positive remarks, she eventually had to block his number because the phone calls were beginning to annoy her.

She said, “I would be like ‘I love you, you're the best, things will get better,’ I was his go-to person to call when he wasn't happy with X, Y, and Z. How that turned? Maybe because I blocked him on my phone because I couldn't bear taking his calls anymore. I can't, I'm drained. So, I blocked him on my phone. Obviously, that really upset him.”

“So, he turned that into oh she's this and she's that. [The Kardashians] all started to ride his wave. If you're that easily swayed, like the wind, then do I really give a f**k? Should I give a f**k? I don't know.

“Was I hurt by it? Yes. But at the same time, I'm like, I've done nothing. I've never done one thing. I've been the most honest and truthful best friend to all of them.”

Of course, we don’t know how much of what Pippen is saying is true, nor do we know whether there’s more to the story aside from the 4 am phone calls she mentioned in the podcast.

Could there potentially have been a fling between the two that ended badly and saw Pippen cut out of the Kardashian circle?

Well, whatever the case may be, Kimye are no longer together and with reports claiming that Kardashian is fighting for full custody of all four children, it doesn’t appear as if things are ending on good terms between the two.

In that very same interview, Pippen, who is the estranged wife of Scottie Pippen, also spoke about her former relationship with NBA star Tristan Thompson, who allegedly left her for Khloe Kardashian after she had introduced him to the family during an event in Los Angeles.

"I was kinda seeing Tristan before Khloé. Before Khloé or any of them knew he existed," the brunette explained. ”I was seeing him, I had him come to L.A., I brought him to a party Kim [Kardashian] had. I introduced him to all of them.”

"Which is fine, I don’t even care. It’s whatever. I’m the type of person that doesn’t chase what’s not for me. I will never chase a man; I will never put a leash on a man. I don’t do that. I feel like, let you be great. If you want to be with other people, go ahead. I’m great by myself.”

Pippen hasn’t had any contact with the Kardashians in well over half a year, it’s been said, and while the family has remained pretty tight-lipped on their reasons for no longer wanting to be associated with the Instagram model, she says that there are no hard feelings for how things ended between her and her former pals.

Pippen recently caused controversy again after it was claimed she shared an affair with Malik Beasley, who was married to Montana Yao at the time. The latter has since been dumped, as the basketball star seems to have made it apparent he’s moving forward with Pippen and not his long-time partner, with whom he also shares a child.
