There is a constant stream of new content being released on streaming platforms and on cable, and casual audiences want to know if something is worth their time. Whether it's a horror project being featured on Netflix, a surprise hit on Apple TV, or a new documentary, knowing if something's worth checking out is always helpful.

The Lincoln Lawyer is a new project from Netflix, and it has piqued the interest of many. That said, time is limited for many, and audiences simply want to know whether this show is worth checking out.

Let's hear from critics and audiences alike to see whether The Lincoln Lawyer is worth your time.

'The Lincoln Lawyer' Just Debuted

2022's The Lincoln Lawyer, not to be confused with the Matthew McConaughey movie, is a brand new show that debuted on Netflix. The series is based on The Brass Verdict by Michael Connelly, who coincidentally wrote the novel that McConaughey's flick was based on.

Starring Manuel Gracie-Rulfo and Neve Campbell, this series is all abut a lawyer who works out of the back of his, young guessed it, Lincoln vehicle. While that might not sound like the most riveting premise for a TV show, this project has been generating some buzz.

When talking about his character in an interview with Coming Soon, Garcia-Rulfo said, "It was a pleasure, you know? First, you’re dealing with the whole arc, you can see it. We find him at the beginning in the lowest part of his life, and then he’s climbing. I can’t say much, but yeah, it was such a pleasure playing Mickey Haller, a character that is loved by so many. To be part of Michael Connelly’s world. It was such a pleasure. I mean, Mickey Haller is one of those characters that … he’s larger than life. So lots of collars and very complex, and vulnerable. So it was beautiful. It was really cool to play him."

The Lincoln Lawyer is still fresh, and critics are chiming in with opinions on the show.

Critics Seem To Enjoy It

At the time of this writing, The Lincoln Lawyer is currently sporting a 76% with critics on Rotten Tomatoes. This is a pretty solid score, and it indicates that professionals enjoy the project overall. It also, however, shows that there are some noticeable problems with the show.

George Thomas, of Akron Beacon, had praise for the show, notably its lead character.

"It’s easy to relate to this Haller as someone who is incredibly flawed, which makes him very relatable. His performance keeps the audience engaged enough to want to see the story through to its end," Thomas wrote.

Daniel D'Addario of Variety did not enjoy the show as much.

"At its best, the Kelley legal drama has real bite and something to say. In The Lincoln Lawyer, working off of a novelist’s script, Kelley amasses incident -- personal and family drama along with court cases -- but doesn’t quite pull it all together," he wrote.

The Lincoln Lawyer's score could fluctuate depending on how many more professional reviews roll in, but those that worked on the show should be excited with where it is now.

The professionals might feel one way about the show, but how do audiences feel? In fact, is this show even worth watching at all?

Is It Worth The Watch?

So, is Netflix's The Lincoln Lawyer worth watching? Right now, the series has an 80% with audiences, giving it an overall average of 78%, meaning that it is certainly a series worth checking out.

One user on Rotten Tomatoes had high praise for the project, citing its realistic nature.

"The court scenes were relatively accurate for Hollywood and the episode regarding jury selection was excellently done. The character development and the story telling was well done. Unlike the racists on here who have criticized Michael Holler being half Mexican, I thought the actor was very good. My wife and I binged watched the series over the rainy weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it," the user wrote.

Contrasting this was a review that pulled no punches.

"The show has a cast full of actors with emotionless personalities. The show has no real connection to any character, it lacks any real substance that the movie compared to had. This show is a total joke and cash cow. Don't fix what isn't broken… don't remake what wasn't shit before," another user wrote.
