Tori Spelling, an actress who starred in classic hits such as 90210, Scream 2, and Saved by the Bell fired back at her haters on Instagram after claims were made that she "faked" an illness to get out of work.

In the expired Instagram story, posted in December 2022, Spelling wrote over a picture clearly depicting her in the hospital and stated, "Here I am in hospital since last night. To all of you who gaslit me when you were told I was too sick to work, well here I am."

But fans didn't only accuse Tori Spelling of over-exaggerating her illness; they also believe she might have faked the claims for clout.

Tori Spelling Often Shares Her Health Struggles

Trips to the emergency room are nothing new to Tori Spelling, and in 2014 she was admitted to the hospital for "possible pneumonia and severe bronchitis."

Breathing issues and difficulties are a worrisome pattern for Tori, and thankfully she recovered from both visits, but it's not unlikely this will continue to cause complications in her daily life.

She's also been forthcoming in other health struggles she's been through, including having to get her breast implants removed 20 years after the surgery because they were "potentially causing" her health issues.

Tori credits her daughter for finally going through with the removal, saying her daughter, Stella, came to her concerned about her health in regard to the implants.

Drama Often Seems To Follow Tori Spelling

Tori is known for being a drama queen in Hollywood, and it started in her early teens. It's no wonder she mostly acted in dramas and killed every role she was in. But her role on 90210 will forever affect her life since she married fellow actor Dean McDermott in 2006.

However, their drama extends far beyond the screen, and they've made headlines for years, not only about Tori's continued health struggles but also very personal details about their marriage.

The couple met before 90210, on a Lifetime movie set for Mind Over Murder in 2005, but they were both in separate marriages at the time. Spelling was married to Charlie Shanian, while McDermott was married to Mary Jo Eustace.

Mary Jo and Dean divorced not long after Dean met Tori, and Tori has even come out to state they both cheated on their partners with each other when they first met.

The now-married couple went out to a bar late after dinner, something she discusses in detail in her 2009 memoir, and Tori stated it was "love at first sight", but she did notice Dean had a wedding band on his finger.

Dean and Tori eloped in the few weeks following Tori's divorce from Shanian during a private ceremony in Fiji. Everything seemed to be going amazing for the couple, and they welcomed four beautiful children into the world by 2014.

But the same year, Dean made a public statement admitting to an affair shortly after Tori shot down claims that her marriage was on the rocks. In the next four years, they rebuilt their marriage, Dean proposed for a second time, and they brought two more wonderful children into their life.

It seemed almost out of the blue in 2018 when the media caught wind of police being dispatched to their home for a domestic dispute and later stated: "no crime occurred."

As of 2023, it seems the couple is doing okay and working on building up their trust. But all the public drama definitely earned them a reputation, and when Tori took to Instagram in December 2022 to "clap back" at haters, her fans had a lot to say.

Fans Speculate Tori Spelling Overreacted After She Couldn't Work

When Tori shared she was in the hospital and therefore couldn't work, one fan wrote on Reddit, "I could see a lot of people thinking she’s overreacting."

That's because in her post, Tori claimed that people didn't believe she wanted to work, and had apparently accused her of faking illness.

That was too much for some fans and critics, who didn't believe she needed to publicize the whole thing.

Fans have often felt frustrated with Tori, and online commenters online had similar thoughts. It seemed that in Tori's post about her health issues, and people who didn't believe she was actually sick, she just made more drama than was necessary.

Commenters on Reddit claim she's looking for "positive coverage" to become more relevant in the media. They say she has been "irrelevant for more than a decade" and was trying to gain traction by being "mildly edgy."

Tori Spelling has an impressive resume in Hollywood, ranging from reality TV and shows like Beverly Hills, 902010, and a personal net worth of $1.5 million. She doesn't seem to be letting any of the hate affect her career or her marriage.

She had one last thing to say in response to the 2022 accusations on Instagram: "How about next time take someone at face value and show kindness instead of doubtfulness. Remember, for people like me - not working is a nightmare. I'm a hustler and a workaholic. I always choose work."
