Jennifer Lopez has been criticized after sharing an emotional photo to Instagram of her 13-year-old daughter Emme crying. It came soon after it was reported she had ended her engagement to fiancé Alex Rodriguez.

In the sad snap, Emme could be seen crying in her father Marc Anthony's arms, while on a FaceTime call with the 51-year-old singer/actress.

"When they are sad but momma and daddy are there #coconuts," Lopez captioned the post.

Lopez continued: "I love you!! So proud of you."

Emme, whose twin brother Max was not pictured, was seen in floods of tears as she held hands with her dad in the screen shot of their FaceTime call with Jennifer.

Lopez's children became very close to Rodriguez's two daughters, Natasha, 14, and ten-year-old Ella, who he shares with ex-wife Cynthia Rodriguez.

In 2018, Lopez gushed the blended families had "become best friends" and said she and Rodriguez "couldn't have asked for anything better than the four of them getting along as they do."

But last night news broke that The Wedding Planner star and her fiancé allegedly ended their four-year romance.

TMZ noted that the former baseball star and the businesswoman broke up Friday morning while People shared: "This has been a long time coming."

Lopez and Rodriguez were last seen together in late February in the Dominican Republic as she filmed her latest movie Shotgun Wedding with Josh Duhamel.

"He’s now in Miami getting ready for baseball season, and she’s filming her movie in the Dominican Republic," a source told PageSix.

Rodriguez was seen alone in Miami on a yacht on Friday. "Don’t mind me, just taking a sail-fie… What are your plans for the weekend?" he captioned his Instagram post.

Rumors are swirling that the couple "broke up" over A-Rod's friendship with Southern Charm star Madison LeCroy. In February, LeCroy claimed she speaks with Rodriguez over the phone.

However, in an interview with Page Six, LeCroy said her communication with Rodriguez,  were "innocent."

Whatever the reason for their apparent split, fans were not here for Lopez sharing a snap of her crying daughter.

"I was rooting for them, but to post your child crying, no matter the reason, is unfair. Why would she post this?" one fan wrote.

"Why would she post this? So wrong. Her poor children," a second added.

"So am I reading this correctly, JLo put out the picture to show her daughters pain to the world?! Seriously, this is messed up. Don't care what he did or what she did; but as a mom using her to show aRod the pain he's caused or to get him back or to win PR game IS not what moms do. Good ones anyway," a third chimed in.
