In an exclusive interview with The Kissing Booth cast, Jacob Elordi revealed that he doesn’t know if he’ll make an appearance in the third sequel.

The Kissing Booth 2 follows a high school senior Elle (played by Joey King) and her struggle to maintain a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend Noah (played by Jacob Elordi).

When asked about the possibility of doing a third film, he gave an unsure response.

“So many of these things end with cliffhangers, I’m trying to leave it up to interpretation,” he said. “Myself personally, I don’t know what I’m doing after this phone call.”

Even though he acknowledged that many fans would be crushed, he said, “well, that’s life.”

This isn’t the first time Elordi expressed his desire to play non-high school roles. He's known for his role as Nate in the breakout hit HBO series Euphoria, which follows the life of 17-year-old Rue (played by Zendaya), a drug addict that is released from rehab.

Even though he is grateful for these two roles, he doesn’t want to play a high schooler forever. In an interview with GQ Australia, he said, “Nothing against that but I’ve sort of done it and it would really be hard for me to find joy in that. I’m also getting older now, and I’m starting to look older, so to keep going back to high school is kind of taxing.”

Elordi continued to talk about how Euphoria changed his life. The hit series really launched his career in the right direction.

“After Euphoria, the coolest shift happened. It put me on the radar, that I could maybe act, and it allowed me to sit down with these guys whose work I admire - they knew my work and they enjoyed it. So I could have these really adult, creative conversations with like-minded people.”

Elordi shared how he struggled to adjust to the fame acquired by the first film. However, he hopes that fans enjoy the second installment.

“It was super intense for a little while. Overnight you couldn’t really go anywhere, but it’s been two years now and it’s died down considerably. So maybe the next one comes out and it’ll be bad again for a little while, but I think it’s all relative.”

The Kissing Booth 2 is now streaming on Netflix.
