The "Bond Girls" generally exist in three ways. The big ones are the main characters who aid Bond in his missions. Then there are the "extra" ladies who are just there for a brief distraction for Bond and to spark up the film. The third are disposable small characters who simply add more beauty to things. For most fans, the first category is what everyone thinks of when Bond is mentioned, and it's little wonder why fans have come to love them so much with so many great characters.

Sadly, many Bond Girls don't match that level. Many suffer from bad actresses in the parts, but even the best stars can't survive a terrible script. Too many Bond ladies are poorly written and the fact that several are intended to be disposable makes it worse. It's a shame even 007 can't be rid of some frankly useless female characters who hamper the movie. Here are the 15 worst Bond Girls of all time as a reminder not every lady sparks with 007.

15 Strawberry Fields Exists Just For Her Name

M has made a few questionable decisions. But sending Strawberry Fields after Bond in Quantum of Solace is one of the worst. To try and sway Bond off a mission, M sends an alluring redhead played by Gemma Arterton, who lasts five minutes before Bond is overriding her to check into a posh hotel and then into bed.

Worst, she's written off by being covered in oil in a throwback to Goldfinger. It's amazing a fun actress like Arterton was wasted in this nothing role.

14 Severine Was A Wasted Character

Skyfall may be one of the better Bond movies, but it does have a surprising lack of good ladies. Severine pops up when Bond is tracking villain Silva. Bérénice Marlohe was stunning in a black dress, and it's little wonder she and Bond have a steamy hookup.

But, the character ends up suffering a bad end, bumped off with a small ceremony by Silva in a throwaway moment. It's a rare flaw in an otherwise excellent film.

13 Lupe Lamora Leaves Little Wonder Why Bond Didn't Choose Her

In License to Kill, Lupe is the mistress of a ruthless drug lord who Bond goes after. Talisa Soto has all the exotic looks for the part, but is quite flat and only there to look good.

That she bounces in allegiances doesn't help, so it's no wonder Bond picks the far more vibrant Pam at the end of the film than the one-note Lupe.

12 Rosie Carver Made History In The Wrong Way

On the one hand, Rosie Carver is notable as the first African-American Bond girl. Too bad she's also one of the worst of Moore's era. Rosie starts as a CIA agent who soon hooks up with Bond. Bond has already figured out she's working for the bad guys.

She ends up freaking out about some voodoo nonsense and gets shot by...a gun hidden in a scarecrow mask. Gloria Hendry looked to be reading off cue cards and it's a shame a landmark character turned out to be so bad.

11 Camilla Montes Was As Boring As Her Movie

The problem with Quantum of Solace is that it has the ingredients to be good, but can't make it work. That counts for the character of Camilla as well. Olga Kurylenko looks terrific, and if the character was just a tough agent, it'd be okay.

But, she's saddled with a cliche "revenge for childhood trauma" storyline that hampers her. Kurylenko and Craig lack any chemistry, which is the reason this is the worst Craig movie.

10 Kara Milovy Struck The Wrong Notes

Here's a good case of a lady who looked great, but the character was lacking. Kara (Maryam d'Abo) is a cellist who gets involved in the complex arms plot of The Living Daylights.

She's involved in crazy stuff from sliding down a mountain on the cello case to a wild battle in Afghanistan. Sadly, d'Abo is flat in the role and too much a damsel in distress to make the character stand out.

9 Kissy Suzuki Was Part Of One Of The Worst Bond Subplots

via: zoo.com

You Only Live Twice gets attention for its fine exotic setting but has one of the dumbest Bond subplots ever. As part of his cover, Bond has to pose as a Japanese man and take a wife.

Kissy's only role was to look good in a bikini and cower around while the action broke out. Making it worse was the movie bumped off the far more appealing Aki for a weaker love interest.

8 Solange Dimitrios Was The First Craig Bond Girl… And Not Much Else

Caterine Murino as Solange in Casino Royale
via: youtube.com

Casino Royale was a great return for the franchise except in terms of one compelling Bond girl. Caterina Murino is stunning in a dress as she accompanies her criminal husband to a poker game.

Bond soon tricks her out of information, then leaves her at the hotel. Demetrios' boss realizes Solange was the informant and leaves her in a hammock for Bond who barely even reacts to show how little she meant to him.

7 Plenty O'Toole Is A One-Joke Character

This is like a parody of a Bond movie moment: While in Vegas in Diamonds Are Forever, Bond is met by the buxom Lana Wood, who says, "I'm Plenty." Bond looks at her low-cut dress and replies, "of course you are."

That's pretty much the only reason for the character to exist. Her other big moment is being thrown out a window into a pool and later bumped off for little reason. There wasn't much to Plenty.

6 Christmas Jones Is The Most Ludicrous Casting In Bond History

Denise Richards
via: imdb.com

There's no getting around it: Denise Richards as a nuclear scientist is the most ludicrous casting in Bond movie history. Yes, she looks hot in a tank top and shorts, but it's impossible to buy her as some brilliant technician.

Richards isn't horrible herself, but the character never clicks from a party dress to the climax. It makes sense the movie ends with a groaner of a joke as this is a terrible Christmas present.

5 Tilly Masterson Was In Her Sister's Golden Shadow

Tania Mallet as Tilly in Goldfinger

Jill Masterson is famous in Bond lore as the woman who ends up a gold-covered corpse in Goldfinger. Tilly is her sister out for revenge. Sadly, Tilly is a terrible shot, and her antics just end up getting Bond in trouble with Goldfinger's goons.

This was model Tania Mallet's only role, and it's easy to see why. Tilly ends up falling to Oddjob's razor-hat and nowhere near as memorable as her sister.

4 Mary Goodnight Was A Bad Character To Watch

Britt Ekland as Mary in The Man With The Golden Gun
via: youtube.com

Britt Ekland may have been stunning in a bikini, yet there wasn't much else in The Man With the Golden Gun. She's supposed to be a Secret Service agent, but is as ditzy as a highschool cheerleader.

She's always getting in Bond's way to the point she nearly sets off a giant laser beam. No legit agency would hire this moron for anything, so having her as the top gal of the movie is wild.

3 Bibi Dahl Was Way Too Young For Even Bond's Tastes

Even Bond has his standards. In For Your Eyes Only, Bibi shows up as an innocent skating prodigy. Bond is thrown to find her in his bed, making it clear she's very much into him. Bond has to brush off her advances as the rare time he doesn't want a woman.

Making the situation more awkward? Lynn-Holly Johnson was just 16 months younger than leading lady, Carole Bouquet, who was 30 years younger than Moore.

2 Holly Goodhead Was A Flat Presence In Moonraker

Lois Chiles as Holly in Moonraker
via: gonefullgeek.com

At first, Holly shows up in Moonraker as a scientist assistant to villain Hugo Drax. Bond discovers that she's an undercover CIA agent as they partner up fast. Lois Chiles sure looks attractive, especially in a nice spacesuit.

But her acting is flat and dull, so it's hard to see her and Bond sharing any sort of spark. The woman's performance is even colder than outer space.

1 Stacey Sutton Was The Worst Against An Aged Roger Moore

Tanya Roberts as Stacey Sutton in A View To A Kill
via: jamesbondwiki.com

In her prime, Tanya Roberts was a very attractive woman. Too bad that didn't serve her well in A View to a Kill. Stacey is supposed to be a top geologist, but is out of her element and her attempt at a relationship with an aged Roger Moore is painful to watch.

This is a woman so thick-headed that she fails to notice a zeppelin coming up behind her. It's little wonder that she ranks tops on this list.
