Looking at James Corden's resume, he's done a lot in Hollywood in a fairly short amount of time. In fact, though he's been around since the '90s, he was mostly on the periphery of Hollywood until his "rise to prominence" around 2007.

Since then, Corden has dabbled in everything from kids' animated films to hosting opportunities to hosting 'The Late Late Show.' But his flexibility in the industry doesn't mean everyone is a fan. In fact, online commenters speculate that James has fewer fans than he thinks, and their proof is in something James himself did.

James Corden Did A Surprisingly Unsuccessful AMA

A couple of years ago, James Corden decided to do a Reddit AMA, and to critics' delight, the whole thing was a dumpster fire. For anyone not already acquainted with the James Corden hate train, a lot of people think he's not very nice in real life.

In fact, when one clueless commenter on Reddit asked why James is so hated, the responses were varied but overall, could be summed up with the answer "There are a lot of stories about him being an unpleasant person."

One person even stated, "We all hate him in Britain. It's why we shipped him off to America, and are so happy he stayed." So, clearly, Corden's reputation precedes him and his time in Hollywood.

For context, James even once admitted that his 'inflated ego' had him seeking professional help... Maybe it didn't work out so well.

Because when James and his team did a deep dive into Reddit, they hoped fans would ask questions about 'Carpool Karaoke' and 'The Late Late Show.' That's not what happened, though.

Commenters Took The AMA As A Chance To Dump On James Corden

Instead of inspiring commenters to ask thoughtful questions, the AMA brought out plenty of trolls. The thing is, James appears to have very few fans on the platform; it takes quite a bit of scrolling and sorting through comments to find any that legitimately care about Corden's career or projects.

In fact, the top-rated question posed to James involved the "fan" asking why James was such a jerk in a restaurant years ago, while accompanied by Harry Styles.

Though some authentic comments managed to make it through, with fans asking which celeb James would most want on 'Carpool Karaoke,' or how the show works (yes, James actually drives), James himself didn't appear to answer very many of them.

Instead, his team answered, signing their names, which didn't surprise many people who reflected on the AMA later. The team clearly didn't anticipate James getting so much hate, and if they had, they probably wouldn't have hosted the session in the first place.

The whole thing proves, critics say, that hardly anyone really likes James, everyone thinks he's a jerk, and Reddit is definitely not where his (seemingly few) fans hang out.
