In the midst of her sister Britney Spears’ conservatorship ordeal, it has been announced that Jamie Lynn is gearing up to release her memoir, due in January 2022. Now, the timing seems pretty interesting considering all that’s been going on with the Spears’ family ever since the #FreeBritney movement continued to gain steam throughout the pandemic in 2020.

Fans were convinced that Jamie Lynn along with her family was allegedly spending millions of the “Lucky” hitmaker’s money while the latter was treated like a slave by those she once considered her loved ones. From being forced into treatment centers against her will to allegedly drugging her with Lithium among other drugs to “treat her mental illness,” so many things have come out about Brit’s conservatorship and the great lengths her family went in making sure the pop star was never going to get out of the court-ordered agreement.

Jamie Lynn, despite publicly denying any wrongdoing or involvement in the matter, has been bashed and slandered on social media as more evidence has come forward showing that she not only used Brit’s money to fly back and forth from Los Angeles to Louisiana but also lived in a $1 million property in Florida, purchased by her sister.

But can we expect Jamie Lynn to be open and honest in her upcoming memoir? Here’s the lowdown…

Jamie Lynn Pens An Open Book About Her Life

Over the summer of 2021, it was announced that Jamie Lynn had been working on a memoir, originally titled I Must Confess: Family, Fame, and Figuring It Out.

Worthy Publishing, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, shared the news in an official statement, adding that the book had been in development for roughly a year and would shed light on a number of hard-hitting topics that the Nickelodeon alum has experienced in her life.

"Jamie Lynn's book has been in development over the past 12 months and will allow the world to hear her inspiring story in her own words, for the first time," the statement revealed. "We look forward to sharing accurate and complete details about the project at the appropriate time and to celebrating the release of her memoir with Jamie Lynn and her fans next year."

The book publisher then had to release another statement after word got out that Jamie Lynn was using a reference to a lyric from Brit’s 1998 single “… Baby One More Time” in the title of her memoir, which clearly didn’t sit well with people.

"Worthy Publishing became aware earlier today that premature information about Jamie Lynn Spears's still-in-development book project has been erroneously released online to book retail sites,” the statement read, via People. "We deeply regret that incorrect and incomplete information about her book has appeared in the public space, particularly at this sensitive time for Jamie Lynn and her family.”

So, it looks as if the memoir doesn’t have a title attached to it now that word got out Jamie Lynn was planning on once again leeching off her sister’s fame to help draw in sales.

While the publisher denies I Must Confess being the initial title of the book, considering that we’re talking about the Spears’ family, who have profited off Brit for the past 13 years, it’s more than likely that JL had probably come up with the book’s title before her sister’s conservatorship drama exploded.

So, what exactly will Jamie Lynn discuss in her open and honest memoir? From what’s already been shared, being a teen star who got her start on All That before landing her own show with Dan Schneider’s Zoey 101 to quitting the program after becoming pregnant at 16 with Maddie Brian, JL certainly had an eventful time in her teens.

She then left Los Angeles to focus on motherhood in Louisiana, settled down with her husband Jamie Watson, whom she married in 2014, and welcomed a baby girl named Ivey Joan in April 2018.

Meanwhile, Britney has strongly been implying on her social media that her sister played a big role in the way Brit’s conservatorship has played out over the years. While JL has defended herself, saying that she has tried to support Brit in every way possible, her actions appear to have shown otherwise.

In a recent court hearing, Britney revealed how she was barred from getting her hair done for months during the pandemic; she was denied to have more children with her boyfriend Sam Asghari; she was forced to perform against her will while heavily sick in Vegas, and was threatened if she was to ever speak out about the ordeal.

If that wasn’t enough, Brit told the court she believed her family was trying to kill her.

Perhaps Jamie Lynn should dedicate a few more chapters in her memoir to talk about how exactly she helped her sibling who has described her conservatorship nightmare as slavery.
