It has been five years since Janet Jackson put out new music, and fans have been waiting  patiently for the pop star to reemerge with something fresh. Black Diamond, her 12th studio album, is soon to come out, and she’s also going on tour!

A Summer Sensation

As per NME, the tour starts on June 24th in Miami, and there will be numerous stops across North America lasting through to the end of August. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, so get ready to snag yours… if you can!

Lucky Viewers

An audience-full of lucky Jackson fans got a nice surprise when she made a surprise appearance on The View this morning.. The whole room got free tickets from the artist herself, resulting in a standing ovation over the shock.

As for the tour vibe? As NME reports, “The pop star’s new show is set to include new music from Black Diamond and cuts from her 38-year solo career. She will perform her 1989 social issues concept album Janet Jackson’s Rhythm Nation 1814, which turned 30 last September.”

Summer can’t come soon enough. And the moment that album’s out, it’s sure to climb the charts at warp speed.

Diamonds Are Forever

Why Black Diamond? As USA Today reports, Jackson stated “Black Diamonds are the toughest of all the diamonds, the hardest to cut. I see that as the hardest to hurt or destroy. There is a lot that I have endured. I see myself as a Black Diamond in its purest form. I’m a rock, I have rough edges but I keep moving forward. I want to show you my strength as well as give you strength."
