Jennifer Aniston has been praised for her "forgiving heart" after she spoke fondly of her ex-husband Brad Pitt in a new interview.

The 52-year-old actress, along with her Friends castmates Lisa Kudrow and Courteney Cox, reminisced about all the great guest stars who appeared in the hit sitcom. Jennifer then gushed, "Mr. Pitt was wonderful, (he was) fantastic." to which Lisa agreed.

Aniston was married to Pitt from 2000 to 2005. A year into their marriage, Brad starred in a Thanksgiving episode during season eight of the show. He played Ross' school friend Will, who had been holding a grudge against Rachel (Aniston) since high school. Rumor has it that during the episode the couple played "footsies" under the table.

Friends fans were surprised that given their intense romantic history Jennifer still held Brad in such high regard.

"Brad really was great in it! Excellent comic timing. Also love Jen for being so mature and real about it rather than still being bitter like a lot of other celebrity would be," one fan wrote online.

"He cheated on her with Angelina. Not sure that's so wonderful. She really has a forgiving heart," a second added.

"Brad ended up paying dearly for choosing Angelina in the long run. The end of their relationship was a complete disaster for his reputation, almost to Johnny Depp/Amber Heard- like depths," a third commented.

Hollywood star Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were embroiled in a well-publicized romantic scandal. She was accused of having caused the divorce of actors Brad and Jen in October 2005.

Tabloids claimed Jolie fell in love with Pitt during filming of Mr. & Mrs. Smith. But the Oscar-winning actress dismissed allegations of an affair, saying,

"To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn't be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife."
