Deciding to have kids or remain childfree is definitely one of the toughest choices in life. Some people always know that they want to be parents. They dream of the moment that they will become pregnant. For others, they always know that it's not the right choice for them to make. And, of course, there are people who are unsure and would be happy no matter what happens.

When people talk about which celebrities haven't had children, Jennifer Aniston is often top of mind. Fans assumed that she and Brad Pitt would start a family, but when they got divorced, everyone had a lot of questions. Fan interest in Jennifer Aniston's dating life is always high, and people wondered if she and Justin Theroux would have a baby, but that didn't happen, either. Keep reading to find out the real reason why Jennifer Aniston didn't have kids.

Why Didn't Jennifer Aniston Become A Parent?

It's no wonder that people talk about Jennifer Aniston not having any kids as there is so much talk about her very public divorce. There's even a fan theory about Jen and Brad's split.

It sounds like Jennifer Aniston remained open to starting a family if that's where her life journey was going to take her, but she felt that it wasn't a huge deal if she didn't become a parent.

In an essay for The Huffington Post, Jennifer Aniston wrote about not having children and shared that it was upsetting that tabloids kept wondering if she was expecting.

The actress wrote, "The sheer amount of resources being spent right now by press trying to simply uncover whether or not I am pregnant (for the bajillionth time... but who’s counting) points to the perpetuation of this notion that women are somehow incomplete, unsuccessful, or unhappy if they’re not married with children."

Jennifer also said, "Yes, I may become a mother some day, and since I’m laying it all out there, if I ever do, I will be the first to let you know. But I’m not in pursuit of motherhood because I feel incomplete in some way."

In 2018, Jennifer Aniston was interviewed by Elle magazine and said that she might not feel like a "natural" mother like some people do. She said, "Some people are just built to be wives and have babies. I don't know how naturally that comes to me."

Although Jennifer Aniston shared how she was feeling in 2018, she thought back in 2006 that she would have a family. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the actress explained that it was awful that people said that she and Brad Pitt got divorced because she cared more about her acting than starting a family with him.

Jennifer said, "I’ve never in my life said I didn’t want to have children. I did and I do and I will! The women that inspire me are the ones who have careers and children; why would I want to limit myself? I’ve always wanted to have children, and I would never give up that experience for a career. I want to have it all.”

While fans have always been curious about whether or not Jennifer Aniston would have kids, people love that she embraces who she is and that she doesn't care what people say about the subject anymore. Several fans shared on Reddit that they like that she's just living her life the best that she can. One fan said that there is more to just "being a wife or Mom" and it's great if women are married with families and it's also great when women don't get married or have kids.

Jennifer Aniston Didn't Get Along With Her Own Mom

In her interview with Elle magazine, Jennifer Aniston explained that it was tough growing up with her mother, Nancy Dow, who has since passed away. Nancy wasn't the warmest person and would say "Honey, put your face on."

Jennifer was very kind about her mom, saying that she knew that her mom cared about her and that since she was raising Jen on her own in the '80s, that was definitely difficult.

Jen didn't extend a wedding invitation to her mom, according to Marie Claire. Jen said that her mom was "critical" so that was hard for her to deal with.
