Jennifer Aniston is dividing fans on social media after she shared a photo of a pandemic-themed Christmas ornament hanging on her tree this year.

On Christmas Day, Aniston shared a photo of the tree ornament, which read, "our first pandemic 2020" carved into a wooden circle. With coronavirus cases growing rapidly in the U.S., many people found her ornament insensitive, while others are saying it is harmless and even promotes buying from small businesses.

While it appears that Aniston was trying to find some light in all the darkness of this year, Twitter users were quick to come after the Friends star.

However, a handful of Aniston's fans came to her defense. Twitter users wrote that the actress has been promoting buying from small businesses amid the coronavirus pandemic and telling her fans the importance of wearing a mask.

Other Twitter users shared their opinions that her ornament was simply "peak satire" and that people "just don't get it."

Jennifer Aniston hasn't publicly commented on the debate surrounding her Christmas ornament, which does appear to be from a small business.

It is worth noting that, for all the controversy, Aniston has also been personally affected by the coronavirus: She shared back in July that her close friend contracted the deadly virus. The actress posted a photo on Instagram of her friend Kevin in the hospital, who looked to be in serious condition. Thankfully, he has recovered, but since then, she has urged fans to wear a mask and to take the virus seriously.
