These days, Jennifer Lawrence is married to Cooke Maroney, director at Gladstone 64, an art gallery in Manhattan, New York City. The pair wed in October 2019, at the Belcourt of Newport mansion in Rhode Island. They had met a little over one year before, and started dating soon after.

Despite the speed with which their relationship graduated from casual to very serious, Lawrence believes that it crystallized rather naturally.

"It was so organic. I definitely wasn't at a place where I was like, 'I'm ready to get married!' I just met Cooke and I wanted to marry him," she said in an episode of the podcast, Naked With Catt Sadler.

Dated A Number Of High Profile Stars

Before meeting Maroney, the X-Men and The Hunger Games actress had dated a number of high profile stars, including the likes of Bradley Cooper, Liam Hemsworth as well as her fellow X-Men star, Nicholas Hoult. Yet for Lawrence, the connection she made with Maroney felt like none she had experienced with any of her previous partners.

"We wanted to marry each other, we wanted to commit fully," she continued on Catt Sadler's podcast. "He's my best friend, so I want to legally bind him to me forever. And fortunately, the paperwork exists for such a thing! It's the greatest. You find your favorite person on the planet and you're like, 'You can't leave.' So I wanted to take up on that offer. He's the greatest person I've ever met."

It was a fairy tale ending to quite an up-and-down love journey for Lawrence. More so if contrasted against her frustrating relationship with Chris Martin, the front man for the English rock band, Coldplay. The pair had been rumored to be seeing each other for a period of time between 2014 and 2015, although the relationship was also said to be on and off.

Definitively Ended Their Fling

Eventually in August 2015, People Magazine reported that the pair had definitively ended their dalliance, and it all had to with their busy schedules. While they were both balancing between their relationship and their successful careers, Martin also had the added responsibility of being as close as possible to his family - with ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow.

Eventually, it took a toll on them, and Lawrence decided that enough was enough. People Magazine quoted a source close to the couple as saying, "Jennifer’s been pretty good about sharing Chris with his family, in part because she has been too busy herself to have it become a real problem, but she still wants to see more of him."

At the time, the door to the relationship was said to remain open, although Martin's scheduling challenges remained an obstacle. "Chris doesn’t really want the relationship to end," the same report quoted a source close to the musician. "But he needs to be flexible so he can see his family as much as possible with his own work schedule. He’s crazy about Jen but wants to keep his own schedule and be able to do what he wants when he wants to do it."

Remains Unmarried

Unlike Lawrence, Martin remains unmarried to date. And although his relationship status is often in a state of flux, he seems to have found a bit of stability on that front. Soon after his break-up with Lawrence, he got into a short-lived relationship with Annabelle Wallis, best known for her roles in The Mummy, The Tudors, and BBC's period drama, Peaky Blinders.

After a few months, they called it quits and in October 2017, Martin paired up with yet another actress. This time, he found love in the arms of 21 Jump Street and How To Be Single star, Dakota Johnson. The relationship was confirmed by Us Weekly in December that year, who quoted a source saying, "Dakota and Chris are definitely dating. They’ve gotten to know each other really well and are very comfortable from one another. Chris sends Dakota his music to get her opinion. It’s more than just a fling."

Martin's former wife, Paltrow remarried in September 2018. On the weekend that she was wedding writer and producer Brad Falchuk, Martin attended an event with Johnson in New York, where she was scheduled to speak. In true Chris Martin fashion, his relationship with Johnson has also endured whispers of being off then back on again. That notwithstanding, he has managed to keep the flame burning on this one, four years later. In March, it was reported that Johnson and Martin had moved in together, in a Malibu mansion owned by the singer.

Whether it was a question of timing or compatibility, the relationship between Martin and Lawrence petered out, never to be revived. Nonetheless, neither can be said to be doing too badly when it comes to their respective love lives ever since.
