Netflix hit Don't Look Up drew mixed reactions from critics when it premiered on December 10, 2021. The ensemble cast received praises for their performance but director Adam McKay's satire wasn't as appreciated. But for a cast that had a "hard" time working with each other, we'd say it all worked out great. Jennifer Lawrence hated working with Jonah Hill. Now she's also revealed that filming with Leonardo DiCaprio was "hell." Here's what really went on behind the scenes.

The Truth About Jennifer Lawrence And Jonah Hill's Relationship

It's not that Lawrence actually hated Hill. But it was "really, really hard" working with him, she said. The Hunger Games star revealed that it was hard to keep a straight face when the actor would do his improv. "It was really, really hard filming with Jonah, and just not ruining take after take, laughing," she explained. "We one time dedicated an entire day to him just improv-ing insults at me. It was amazing." He added that the War Dogs star was "a comedic master" and that he and "Meryl were the only ones who should do that kind of improv."

As it turned out, it was all fun and laughter on the set of Don't Look Up. However, the actress wants viewers to take the film for its serious message. According to her, she wants the audience to learn how "to stop handling information the way that we do now, where there's like the truth and science and then politics, or you know, personal feelings involved." The film does touch on timely issues facing the world today. "You know, we should all just be on the same page," Lawrence continued. "Of, you know, taking care of our planet, and taking care of mankind. World peace would be my hope."

Why Jennifer Lawrence Described Working With Leonardo DiCaprio As 'Hell'

Lawrence said that filming a scene alongside DiCaprio and Timothée Chalamet put her in "misery" all day. "It was the most annoying day in my life," said the Silver Linings Playbook actress during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. "They drove me crazy that day. I don’t know what it was. Timothée was just excited to be out of the house [after the pandemic lockdown]." Yes, she was also annoyed with the young heartthrob.

"I think it was, like, his first scene," she continued. "And Leo had picked the song that was playing in the car and was just, like, 'You know, this song was about, you know, blah, blah, blah.'" Again, nothing serious. Just J Law not feeling the vibe that day. "I just remember being in absolute misery that day," she joked. "It was hell." Still, she thought it was "cool" working with the two actors.

Jennifer Lawrence Says Filming This Scene In 'Don't Look Up' Was The Worst

In the opening scene of the film, Lawrence can be seen rapping a few lines of Wu-Tang Clan’s Ain’t Nuthing ta F’ Wit. Although it was supposed to be a cool moment, the actress said filming it was the "the worst day of my life." She wasn't prepared for it being the first scene she ever had to shoot post-Covid delays. "Because something happened with COVID, that ended up being my very first scene [to shoot]," she said of the scene. "It was horrifying, because I’m in this huge hanger, and it’s so quiet. And I don’t know anybody, and I had to rap Wu-Tang Clan. It was just horrendous. And then what’s [used] in the movie is like, five seconds. I really wish I had known that."

Lawrence rehearsed the song "a few weeks" only to find out that the final cut of the rap was only five seconds. But she was determined to give it her best. Don't Look Up marked J Law's official return from her 2-year acting hiatus. She took a break to reset and reassess what her career meant to her. She wanted to make an impact this time. "I think I've pleased people most of my life," she said of her job. "Working made me feel like no one could be mad at me."

However, she admitted that she wasn't pleased with her work either. "I was not pumping out the quality that I should have," she said of trying hard to please everyone with her performance. "I just think everybody had gotten sick of me. I'd gotten sick of me. I felt like I reached a point where people were not pleased just by my existence. So that kind of shook me out of thinking that work or your career can bring any kind of peace to your soul." Now that she's back, we definitely can't wait to see J Law 2.0.
