At the time during the late '90s, Jennifer Lopez was flying high, appearing in numerous films. However, a 1998 interview alongside Movieline almost ended her career. Lopez claims her words were taken out of context, during the interview she took several shots at her peers, including the likes of Salma Hayek and Cameron Diaz.

Lopez would also take a shot at Sandra Bullock and it seems to be no coincidence that since the comments were made, the two haven't appeared in a film together and that likely won't change.

The dilemma all started over the film, 'Out of Sight'. Lopez wasn't impressed with Bullock's work ethic on the road to the film, and it would cause Lopez to get the role instead, appearing alongside George Clooney. Despite Bullock missing out, she would appear in a film alongside George years later. Basically, everybody wins but at the time, it didn't seem to be that way.

Bullock Didn't Want To Test

For the film 'Out of Sight', Clooney wanted to test the women, getting an idea of who would work best with him. During her revealing '98 interview, Lopez agreed this was the right decision, "One of the smart things George did was to screen-test everybody because he knew he'd had trouble with the women in his movies, where maybe there wasn't as much chemistry as there could have been."

Universal wanted Bullock for the role and although she met with the film executives, she refused to test for the part. That's when J-Lo stepped in and stated that she would've taken a different approach, "I have this attitude, and it won't change no matter how big I get, that you have to fight for things you want. You can't expect things to be handed to you on a platter, even if you can fill theatres week in and week out. Because there's always somebody like me ready to kick down the door and steal the job right out from under you."

Ultimately, Bullock's refusal was Jen's gain as she landed the role. Once again, Lopez continued on, claiming Sandra should've looked at the situation differently, "Universal was pushing for Sandra Bullock because they said she'd put people in seats. George and the director met with her, but they were like, 'If Sandra really wants it, she's gonna have to test for it. She wouldn't test, and her agent, who is also my agent, supported that. If I was Sandy, I'd say, 'Well, I'm gonna show them that I can do it. I'll read with them, make them offer me the part, then make them pay out the butt."

Lopez got the role and she made a cool $2 million because of it. J-Lo was very active with what she demanded as a wage from the film, given that she was going to do a lot of promotion for it, "When my agent called me saying, 'What should we say to them?' I said, 'Say, Who's going to break their a** to promote this movie while George is on ER? Say, Anaconda is now over US$100 million worldwide and why do you think girls between 18 and 25 went to see it more than any other action movies, because of Ice Cube?'"

The harsh comments got J-Lo into a lot of trouble and some in the industry thought she'd never work again because of it. J-Lo recalls crying for days after the interview was published. Thankfully, it all worked out for J-Lo and we can say the same for Bullock, who finally appeared in a film with Clooney years later.

Bullock And Clooney Still Kept Close

Despite the fallout, Sandra and George managed to keep close, not only did they appear in 'Gravity' together, but Geroge was also a huge influence in setting up a date for her, "Grant, George, and the person I dated were all friends. I met George at a party where he was doing Buddy Hackett imitations! George was the reason the guy that I ended up dating dated me. He was like, "If you don't get with her, I'm gonna get with her." He was kidding, but sort of pushing. So we've all known each other for umpteen-chillion years and have supported each other from afar," she stated alongside Glamour.
