Jessica Alba has opened up on spectacularly failing her vegan detox getaway.

The actress and entrepreneur got candid about not really complying with the rules of the retreat in the weeks leading to it.

Jessica Alba Wasn’t Really Ready For Her 'Vegan Hiking Detox Situation'

"It was a vegan hiking detox situation,” Alba told Jimmy Fallon in an episode of The Tonight Show.

“So, in my mind, I’m like, ‘I’m going there to do the healthy thing’ but actually you’re supposed to eliminate all the things before you get there,” she continued.

Alba explained that she was expected to not drink alcohol nor consume meat for a month or at least a few weeks before the retreat.

“The night before, I was like, ‘How many margaritas can I get in?’” Alba said.

"I was like, downing tacos that morning… with all the things on it,” she added.

On top of the no meat and no alcohol rule, the retreat also recommended participants to go hiking in the weeks ahead of the actual day.

“You’re supposed to hike like, six miles a day. Who has time for that?” Alba said.

“You’re supposed to walk, walk for like, six miles a day. Build yourself up,” she clarified.

Alba explained she didn’t do any of the above.

"But then we were on the hike and, on our first day, we’re halfway up. We’re like, ‘You know, we don’t know if we can do this anymore,’” and then a pack of solid, solid senior citizens, like 80 to 90-year-old seniors, they just like, boom, right past us,” she said.

While Alba and the others on the retreat were huffing and puffing, the senior gang lapped them.

"They went to the top and came back down and we still hadn’t quite made it up,” she explained.

"One of those moments where you’re like, ‘I might be failing at this. Whatever this is, this is not my thing,’” she added.

Alba’s The Honest Company Went Public

Alba is the founder of ethical consumer goods brand The Honest Company, which she started back in 2011. The company went public on May 5.

"It’s wild. It’s a dream come true,” she commented.

"You have this idea… ‘Can I really build this ethical business that stands for human health and thinking about the planet and sustainability and diversity and inclusion? And can a company that really has purpose do well and be looked at in the business world and taken seriously?’”

It looks like the answer to Alba’s question is a loud and clear yes.
