The Duggars have been in the news for a lot of different reasons, and not all of them savory. For one thing, Josh Duggar's drama has overtaken the rest of the family's updates, especially as Anna Duggar appears to stand by her man despite child pornography charges.

But other topics often grab fans' interest when it comes to the Duggars -- like their family's eating habits, for example. Though many of the Duggar kids have now started their own families, the Duggar family recipes are still making the rounds -- and fans don't approve.

Why Don't Fans Like Duggar Family Recipes?

As evidenced by the comments on Jill Dillard's social media, there are at least two reasons why fans don't like Duggar family recipes.

For one thing, they say most of the recipes are absolutely unhealthy. One of the most highly criticized Duggar family dishes is their "breakfast casserole," which social media commenters absolutely love to bash.

The dish features a full bag of tater tots, milk, butter, eggs, and "like a pound" of cheddar cheese, leading commenters to dub it "heart attack casserole." Other "recipes" involved a handful of ingredients that social media followers didn't find appetizing.

Additional Duggar recipes rely heavily on canned ingredients, which often contain a lot of sodium, and a lot of less-healthy fats like mayonnaise. Followers of Jill and the rest of the Duggars just weren't impressed that the family relied on such artery-clogging ingredients to feed their family.

The high-calorie level was also a concern of critics, though most fans can probably agree that the family's 19 kids (and countless grandkids) seem pretty healthy.

But there's also Jill's habit of giving breastmilk to their dog, in addition to the kids, which makes fans uncomfortable. Fortunately, that's not included in her recipe repertoire.

Fans Also Have A Problem With Jill's "Duggar Family Recipes"

Another reason why fans say Duggar family recipes are not impressive? The fact that Jill, and other family members, use others' recipes and claim them as their own.

Though Jill has often said that the recipes she cooks are her family's, critics have called her out for "stealing" recipes from others and sharing them as Duggar specials.

Plus, there's the fact that some dishes don't even count as true recipes, to begin with. For example, Jill once shared a "Duggar family recipe" that was of her own making, but it's just... sauteed vegetables.

The Duggar daughter explained that her sauteed onion-and-carrot dish was a favorite when she lived in Central America with her husband. It's oil, onions, and carrots -- which doesn't sound like a recipe to fans, nor does it sound appetizing (especially to kids).
