The comedy world is a tough cookie to crack for people. Some people are great solo, some are terrific in a duo, while others do great stuff in groups. No matter the way they get there, people that conquer comedy are a rare breed who get to enjoy the spoils of success.

Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels proved to be a comedic force of nature with their work together on the big screen. A surprising reunion gave way to the guys showcasing their skills in a live segment, and they tore the roof off the place.

Let's take a look at how these two pulled it off!

Jim Carrey And Jeff Daniels Created A Cult-Classic With Dumb And Dumber

In 1994, Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey came together for a little movie called Dumb and Dumber. Though people were unsure how well these two would work together, they managed to blow people away with their chemistry, while making a fortune at the box office.

Jeff Daniels was known as more of a serious actor, but Jim Carrey insisted on getting him involved with the movie.

"He didn’t want another comedian trying to top him, he wanted an actor that was going to keep him on his toes, just as he would do to the actor in turn. Quite honestly Jeff Daniels is not a comedian. He can be funny, he can be a star in a comedic movie, but he’s not a comedian," TV Overmind wrote.

Fortunately, the studio brought Daniels on board, and the duo dropped a classic with Dumb and Dumber.

Some time later, a prequel movie was made, but it didn't feature the duo in their iconic roles. It predictably failed to make a dent when it was released, and most people have completely forgotten about it.

Many years later, the duo shocked the world by reuniting for a sequel to their beloved comedy film.

They Reunited For A Sequel

In 2014, Dumb and Dumber To hit theaters, and people were curious to see how the film cut of the film turned out.

Prior to its release, Carrey talked about working with Jeff Daniels once again.

"I love being around [Jeff]. I watch everything he does. He’s the most versatile actor working today. It’s unbelievable what he does. I especially enjoy watching him do interviews because I know you he them, especially the parts where he talks about how working with me changed the course of his life. That I enjoy more than anything," Carrey said.

Unfortunately, while they did put on a show together, the sequel was not a success. It garnered a poor critical reception, though it did manage to make a shade under $170 million worldwide.

Carrey and Daniels have an undeniably comedic chemistry with one another, and while they were promoting the film, they reminded the world just how great they are together.

Carrey And Daniels Proved They Still Got It On Jimmy Fallon's Late Show

In 2014, Carrey and Daniels appeared on Jimmy Fallon's show, and they were hilarious together. The hilarity escalated when Carrey and Daniels took part in a game with fake arms.

"They set up the bit as a Canadian soap opera the three of them starred in together long ago. Back then, neither Carrey nor Daniels would allow their real arms to be used, and so everyone was forced to use fake arms. And so the scene was set for a flashback of absurd portions," The Wrap writes.

Once things were in place, the duo wasted no time in demonstrating their comedy chemistry.

As part of the segment, Jimmy Fallon was a customer in a diner, and "Carrey and Daniels were behind the counter when Fallon ordered a cheeseburger and fries. All that was left was for the co-stars to figure out how to put his order together while holding mannequin arms."

These two managed to take a simple premise and turn it into a hysterical segment in no time. It looks like a ton of fun to be part of, but it was just as fun watching these two entertain the audience.

"And yet, the final product was truly a thing of beauty. What would have sent it over the top would have been if Fallon had to figure out how to eat the meal with his own fake arms," The Wrap continued.
