Jim Hopper is in for a rough ride...and he wants us to know it. David Harbour who portrays the Hawkins Chief of Police must have disappeared at the end of season 3...but he's alive, if not well. While closing a rift that shielded our world from the Upside Down and its terrifying monsters, Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) had no choice but to kill the switch before Hopper could make it back safely.

He is revealed to be dead, but the post-credit scene teased the possibility of Hopper being alive and held captive in a Russian prison. It wasn't until Netflix released the season 4 teaser and confirmed the news!

The Russians Haven't Been Kind To Jim Hopper

Now that Stranger Things is filming again, the actor conversed with fans via Instagram live, teasing spoilers and flaunting his season 4 costume.

The Black Widow star, although in character looked incredibly different from Jim Hopper in season 3, when he sported a cool tropical T-shirt and grew out his hair.

Harbour sported a newly shaved head along with some serious cuts and bruises to his face. His heavy, dusty coat explains the character is trying to keep up with the harsh winter conditions in Russia.

In the video, the actor revealed having a "very tough day" and noted he was "exhausted". Fans expect this means there is a good deal of action sequences in store for them, since Hopper will have to break out of prison. The Russians obviously didn't abduct him to just send him back!

Harbour said, "I'm here, shooting season four of our television show."

"I don't think I'm supposed to be showing you these things. Who wants to hear spoilers for season 4? Let me just read directly from the script," he joked cheekily, and of course, didn't reveal any details about the upcoming season.

Towards the end of his livestream, he was joined by his on-screen daughter Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven).

The actor requested Brown not to tell Netflix about his Instagram live, or he'd disclose what happens to her character in the season. "I'm just gonna read your sections of the script, Millie. I'm just gonna tell everybody what happens to Eleven this season!"

Harbour's Stranger Things co-star Cara Buono (Karen Wheeler) had a story to share. She wrote in the comments, "I got in trouble for posting a pix of my set chair that just said Karen!!! This is bold."

His wife Lily Allen was shocked. "Baybee what are you doing ?????"

Fans were worried Netflix would get Harbour "fired" for this, but the streaming service just commented with the waving hand emoji.
