Nearly two years after the end of the series, plenty of people out there still miss The Big Bang Theory. It makes sense: a show that ran for twelve seasons always leaves a giant hole when it leaves the air, in its timeslot and in its fans' hearts. For fans of Sheldon or Amy, though, help is already on the way.

Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik will be reuniting for a brand new comedy, Call Me Kat, starring Bialik herself. Bialik, who got her start on a small-time show called, Blossom, way back in the day, has literally blossomed into a household name with her stint on Big Bang Theory.

While she was a hot star in the 90's, the actress took a huge break from performing upon reaching adulthood to not only start a family, but also to get her degree in neuroscience -just like her Big Bang Theory character, Amy. She has a PhD. in the field, but came back to acting to boost her health insurance, and decided to stick around.

The sitcom, which portrays Bialik as a lovable lady who owns a cat cafe, is a new offering from Fox, and if you ask Bialik what she thinks of the role, she'd tell you, "I get to be more myself."

In the first teaser trailer for Call Me Kat, Bialik opens up about her character and shows us the first glimpse of her quirky new role.

Parsons, for his part, will be producing the comedy, along with Bialik, to bring you a story about an unusual young woman who is still somehow relatable. Though she deals with all the normal issues of a somwhat-awkward adult woman - like problems with an overbearing mother, awkward interactions with people, and being perpetually single - she reminds us all that life is about the small moments that bring joy and laughter into our lives.

Unfortunately, while you might be excited to see Parsons and Bialik reunite, you may have to wait on the comedy. According to Kelly Lawler from USA Today, the show's attempts at humor falls flat and wastes Bialik's talents, as well as those of comedy pros Swoosie Kurtz and Leslie Jordan.

Still, the word of one critic does not a verdic make: If you'd like to catch both Bialik and Parsons in Call Me Kat, and judge for yourself, tune into Fox on Thursdays at 9 pm starting Jan. 7th. Before that, it'll air Sundays at 8 pm.
