Their childhoods could not have been any more different. Jimmy Fallon grew up idolizing late-night comedy and working several stage gigs both in high school and later on in life.
As for Dwayne Johnson, things were nowhere near the same. Dwayne had a reckless childhood, heck he was kicked out of Nashville for buying a car illegally off a bum. Not to mention that he didn’t have much money either, “There was a time back in ‘87 when we couldn’t even afford Thanksgiving dinner and was praying someone would invite us over their house to eat," he shared. "We were in a tough spot back then, but we got thru it. And here we are today. One big, extended, blended, slightly crazy, loving, grateful ohana."
Although they both took different paths, both achieved huge success. Fallon conquered his dream of late-night comedy, joining the cast of 'Saturday Night Live'. It boosted his reputation in the business and soon enough, he transformed into one of the most popular talk show hosts out there.
As for Dwayne, he failed in his pursuit of a football career but thankfully, a door was wide open in pro wrestling. This would lead to huge stardom and later, he would become an even bigger star in the world of Hollywood.
Despite the different paths, both hit it off every time they’re together for an interview. Even during their most recent interview, Dwayne’s mom played a hilarious part, putting on a performance. The chemistry is great, but one thing is for sure, they sure had different paths growing up.
Throwbacks
Fallon posted the hilarious throwbacks of the two when they were both 15. Sarcastically, Jimmy made mention that the two had a lot in common, “@TheRock at 15 ➡️ Me at 15. Think it’s safe to say we had a lot in common 💪 #TBT.”
Fans are excited to learn about even more in relation to Dwayne Johnson and his youth, the new NBC show 'Young Rock' will highlight his upbringing. Given some of the stories we’ve heard, it is sure to be a wild series, documenting all the craziness from the various parts of his life. We can’t wait!
