Podcaster/UFC commentator/cult of personality leader Joe Rogan just woke up to something weird.

According to eye witness accounts and photos shared to Twitter, somebody wrote about his height (using what Joe might have once called "chemtrails") in giant letters across the skies of West Hollywood yesterday evening. What the what?

A sky-writing plane left that message for a bunch of confused pedestrians, and people quickly took to their socials to figure it all out. Here's everything we know:

"Joe Rogan Is Lite[r]ally 5 Foot 3"

The sky-written message featured a little typo in the word "literally," but basically made a dig at Joe Rogan for being shorter than he claims to be. A picture of it was shared by 'The Hollywood Reporter' editor Rebecca Keegan and then retweeted thousands of times by perplexed people (many of whom seemed to enjoy any opportunity to hate on Joe).

"Money well spent!" reads one popular retweet, with another adding "It’s been an ongoing joke/commentary in our house that Joe Rogan lies about his height..."

It Was Actually a Proposal

Those who got to see the whole message confirmed that the part about Joe was actually a surprise ending to a successful marriage proposal.

The words before the Joe Rogan part read: "will you marry me Mollie Pratt," "she said yes," "I love you more than anything," "excited to spend my life with you," and "until death do us part," according to Tweets from the scene. It ended with "got one more thing to say," and then of course the Joe Rogan height thing.

Nobody's been able to identify that particular Mollie Pratt (or the person who proposed to her) but since the plane wrote "she said yes," we can only assume it all went well. It went viral, anyway, which is probably what whoever spent thousands of dollars on sky-writing hoped for? Congrats, mystery Mollie!

Joe Ain't Tall, But He's Not 5'3''

So how tall is Joe Rogan really? According to his IMDb, he's 5'7'' and a half. That's a full four inches (plus a half that they want us all to know about!) taller than the height that sky-written message claimed he was, but still a bit shorter than average.

According to Office of National Statistics data from 2020, the average male measures about 5'9'' tall. If Joe Rogan's IMDb is accurate and that stat is correct, his height is slightly on the shorter side, but pretty unremarkable.

If you happen to notice he looks WAY shorter than average on his socials, bear in mind that he usually takes pics with pro fighters with giant proportions. For perspective, here he is between Craig Jones (6'1'') and Alexander Volkanovski (5'6'').

5'7''ish seems about right! We'll wait on Joe to clear up the confusion, though. He's got to respond to haters in the sky, right?
