Many love him and many others dislike him - but either way, nobody can deny the overwhelming success of John Cena.

The guy has been the top dog, on and off, for well over a decade in the world of professional wrestling, and that much is clear.

Today, we want to take the time to put some myths about Cena to rest once and for all. While there are some comments you could make about him that would hold some real value, he has gone to hefty lengths in order to ensure that WWE can continue to thrive for many years to come.

Enjoy the article folks, let`s get started!

20 Made Nikki Sign A Contract Before Moving In

When Nikki Bella first moved into John Cena's home back in 2013, the champ made it clear that he was the one in control - and he did so by making Nikki sign a 75-page contract that included a clause in which she would need to leave ASAP upon them breaking up.

19 He Has Campaigned To Turn Heel

John Cena was informed back in the day that WWE was considering turning him heel - so he went out and got new gear made in addition to a new theme song. That, though, is very different to him actively campaigning for the brass to turn him into a bad guy.

18 Mickie James Relationship

Allegations have been made back and forth but at this stage, it's pretty much public knowledge that John Cena had a thing with Mickie James. They attempted to turn it into a storyline on screen, too, which was all the more amusing.

17 Lots Of The Rock Feud Was Unscripted

From going after the fact that he thought Dwayne was a hypocrite to pointing out his promo notes on his arm, John Cena really did go hard in the paint during his feud with The Rock - and we can't exactly say that we blame him for doing so.

16 Frauded Ford

John Cena is known for being a big fan of cars, but last year he got into some trouble with Ford when he sold his GT less than two years after buying it. That doesn't sound too unusual, but as it turns out, there was a clause in place that should've ensured that didn't happen.

15 Not So Pleasent When Fans Film Him

When John was in London earlier this year, he confronted a 'YouTuber' who was spotted recorded him when he was leaving a store in the capital. The 16-time world champion made it known that the guy recording him did not have his permission to do so.

14 Vince McMahon’s Puppet

John Cena will protect Vince McMahon at all costs because he is the man that helped to put him on the map and give him a head start in professional wrestling. They may disagree from time to time, but John quite clearly views him as something of a secondary father figure.

13 Actively Wanted To Do Total Divas & Bellas

Nobody really knows one way or the other whether or not Cena wanted to take part in Divas and Belas, but we're inclined to believe that it's true. He always seemed to thrive in the spotlight that the shows created for him, and never seemed particularly uncomfortable in front of the camera.

12 He Does Bury People Sometimes

Bray Wyatt, Alex Riley, The Miz & and Rusev, anyone?

The list could go on and on but we truly do believe that the basic definition of a burial is for someone to purposely detract from the momentum of another superstar through beating them. Cena has done that countless times to guys that really could've done with the rub.

11 Nexus SummerSlam Debacle

The Nexus should've beaten Team WWE with relative ease at SummerSlam 2010 before eventually going on to become the biggest force that the company had seen in years. Alas, John Cena wanted to go over, so John Cena went over. Baffling decision.

10 Didn`t Make It As A Bodybuilder

John Cena is a great professional wrestler with an unbelievable physique. As it turns out, though, one of his first major passions and desires was to become a bodybuilder. Despite looking amazing when doing so, he wasn't quite able to break into the business.

9 He Does Want To Have Children

When you take one look at the natural instincts of John Cena as a man, it's clear to see that he would make for a phenomenal father. He can say that he doesn't want to take that next step all he wants, but we're convinced he'll succumb to fatherhood one day.

8 WrestleMania Proposal Was Staged

John Cena's proposal at WrestleMania 33 was all well and good, but at the end of the day, very few people believe it was a legitimate proposal as opposed to it being staged. Only Cena and maybe Nikki will know for sure, but either way, it was weird.

7 Watches Most Matches At The Gorilla Position

The Gorilla Position is a wonderful place that serves as the final barrier before the guys and girls go out in front of the crowd. John Cena is also a big fan, but for a different reason - as he spends a lot of time watching other matches when he's in there.

6 Secretly Dating Again

After officially moving on from ex-girlfriend Nikki Bella, John is now said to be dating once again without really putting it out there in the public eye. The girl in question is Shay Shariatzadeh who is said to be an engineer who works as a project manager for Avigilon.

4 He’s A Hypocrite Regarding The Rock

He is a hypocrite and the man himself has pretty much admitted to that. The Rock turned his back on pro wrestling to go off and do movies, and Cena has virtually done the same. We don't really care at this stage, but to his fans: acceptable is the first step.

3 He Was A Bit Of A Bully

Reports have circulated over the years that John Cena has a tendency to be a bit of a bully backstage with Alex Riley, in particular, making such claims, hinting that Cena's actions caused a ripple effect for his career with WWE.

2 Always Steps Up And Performs At WrestleMania

Cena turns up and does the business when it comes to WrestleMania season and that much is just a fact. He's always been the kind of guy that is going to give the fans what they want to see in terms of match quality and he needs to be respected for that.

1 Victoria Relationship

John Cena and Victoria allegedly had an extramarital relationship when they were on the road together back in the day. Again, we haven't really had all too much clarification on either side, but we're confident in saying that it happened.
