A Quiet Place is currently taking the box office by storm and now there's a whole other reason why it should be your new favorite movie.

In the wide, wide world of television and film it can be quite easy for certain actors to become type cast. It often happens to those who play the same character for a number of years in a popular television series. Take John Krasinski for example, most would recognize him for his portrayal of Jim Halpert in the extremely successful show The Office.

The Office has now been off the air for five years and Krasinski has since been making a name for himself in the movie world. In fact, he recently starred in what was his directorial debut A Quiet Place. The post-apocalyptic thriller is currently in theaters and has been impressing movie goers everywhere, earning a score of 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The basic plot of the movie revolves around Krasinski and his family living in a world populated by monsters that attack anyone who makes even the slightest noise. His real life wife Emily Blunt plays Krasinski's partner in the film. They are joined by their three children, for the purposes of the movie not their real life kids, with Blunt pregnant with their fourth.

Since they can't make any noise, the characters rarely speak to one another and one of the children in the movie is deaf. The girl who plays her, Millicent Simmonds, is actually deaf in real life and Krasinski is being applauded for casting her to play the role. According to Comic Sands, the director was very conscious of accurate representation during the casting process and insisted that his deaf daughter in the film be played by an actor who is deaf in real life.

During the film, the family interact with each other through sign language an awful lot and Simmonds has actually spoken out about the need for more parents to learn it in the US. Last year she revealed to People that 98-99% of the parents of deaf children don't know ASL which forces them to speak and/or lip read. The young actor is urging more parents to learn it, and hopefully her performance in A Quiet Place will help further that plea.
