The court battles between ex-couple Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been on the headlines for years. They have been going through a rough patch since their split, leaving everyone wondering what they are doing this year. No worries, we got you covered!

What Is Johnny Depp Doing This Year?

Despite being MIA from social media platforms since his controversial divorce with Heard, Depp made a rare appearance on Instagram to promote his new film. He posted a promotional photo of the movie City of Lies and went on to thank Voletta Wallace and the Poole family for allowing him and the rest of the team to tell the “timely and important story.” The caption also reads, “Truth is a rare bird. All the more reason to search for it.”

Aside from his new movie, the rock star is set to play his guitar again. Depp’s friend and bandmate, Alice Cooper, told in an interview with The Daily Beast that the Pirates of the Caribbean star “can’t wait to get back onstage.” He said that the legal troubles of the actor won’t get in the way of their plans to release a new album.

The singer also revealed that Depp has been writing songs, which he believed to have been inspired by his recent personal dramas. Cooper admitted, “I know Johnny was writing all last year when the whole thing was going on with him. But you know, that’s not going to stop him from going home and writing. In fact, it probably helped. I’m expecting some pretty interesting songs.”

What Is Amber Heard Doing This Year?

Heard has been quite busy lately with her vaccination shot, L’Oreal Paris shoot, Instagram updates, and more. While Depp shared a rare post on social media, the actress also made a sort of statement on her Instagram through the use of two photos of herself wearing the same black dress. She wrote, “One dress, four years apart. Sometimes it’s important to wear the same thing twice.”

The pictures signify the two very significant moments in her life – the first time she wore it was when she filed the domestic abuse allegations against Depp in 2016, and the second time was when she testified against him in the libel case that resulted in the denial of the actor’s appeal in November 2020. Check out her post below.

Taking a break from the legal issues, Heard posted a monochrome photo of herself dressed as Mera. She captioned, “Seeing all your excitement around the release of Justice League…and the return of Mera. I get a sword and a crown? I’m in.” She also shared a video from the set in which she can be seen in full costume.

The actress also filmed a selfie video message to celebrate the 50th anniversary of L’Oreal Paris’ “I’m Worth It Campaign.” She said in the clip, “Nothing could mean more to me as an advocate, as an activist, an actor or woman than that tagline. I am proud to serve as a representation of that idea of that movement of that momentum, we need that, especially considering where we are.”

With her hectic schedule, Heard set aside time to get herself vaccinated. She received her first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine as she documented it on her Instagram. She can be seen posing while showing her band-aid. She captioned it with, “Did someone say “vaccine queen”?!”
