Johnny Depp Is Set To Star In The Upcoming Movie 'Jeanne Du Barry'

According to its IMDb page, the movie will revolve around "the life of Jeanne Bécu who was born as the illegitimate daughter of an impoverished seamstress in 1743 and went on to rise through the Court of Louis XV to become his last official mistress."

Johnny Depp is set to play King Louis XV in the French-language movie, and he will star alonsgide Maïwenn, Louis Garrel, Pierre Richard, and Noémie Lvovsky. Currently, the movie is in pre-production. Jeanne du Barry will be Johnny Depp's first movie since the 2020 drama Minamata which he also produced. The period drama movie will be directed by Maïwenn who is a known French actress and filmmaker — and she will portray King Louis XV mistress, Jeanne Bécu.

Throughout the defamation trial between Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard, Depp and his legal team claimed the actor’s career was negatively impacted as a result of Heard's claims. One of the jobs the actor allegedly lost due to the allegations is the role of Captain Jack Sparrow in the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean movie. However, considering that Johnny Depp won the Depp v. Heard trial, it seems as if things might change for the actor. Puffins Impossible will consist of 18 five-minute episodes, but a released date isn't known yet.

According to predictions by experts, Johnny Depp's career is about to go through a revival. The actor, who starred in numerous famous blockbusters might become even more popular. Industry expert Alexandra Villa from In House PR thinks Depp will have plenty of projects to choose from. "His career is going to skyrocket. He not only has the heart of the consumer in his hands," she said. "He may be able to pick and choose some of the biggest movies coming out in the next few years. He could become the world's highest-paid actor ever."

The CEO of Strategic Vision PR Group David E. Johnson is on the same page. "He won in the court of public opinion," the CEO said. "I think now we're going to see that Hollywood does not see him as lethal, as it did a few years ago. I think Hollywood will see him as someone bankable."

Besides the actor's expected comeback to Hollywood, Johnny Depp is also expected to release an album alongside guitar legend Jeff Beck at some point in 2022. While the actor currently has only two upcoming projects, based on the opinions of industry experts, the actor is about to have a huge comeback.
