In recent years, Jordyn Woods has been through a lot. The model and socialite who has appeared alongside former BFF Kylie Jenner on Keeping Up with the Kardashians had her world turned upside down after she hooked up with Khloe Kardashian’s man, Tristan Thompson. Since then, the Kardashians have lashed out against their former friend. Meanwhile, in response, Woods called out Khloé and her family for attempting to cancel her.
Through it all, one woman, in particular, has stood by Woods’ side. And that’s none other than her mother, Elizabeth Woods.
Who Is Elizabeth Woods?
Elizabeth is an experienced talent and brand manager who has taken it upon herself to manage her own daughter’s career (essentially, she’s a momager now). In fact, she is behind the Woods Management Group, Inc, a company that was registered in California back in 2018, according to its records. Elizabeth has managed Jordyn even during her early days as a plus-size model for Wilhelmina Models. While speaking with WMD about her fashion collaboration with UK online fashion retailer Boohoo, Jordyn acknowledged that working with her mom is not always easy, but she’s grateful to have her around. “Sometimes you don’t want to listen to your mom because you’re, like, “I know what I need to do,” she explained. “But at the end of the day your mom is always going to want the best for you so it’s awesome having someone support me.”
Aside from being a momager to Jordyn, Elizabeth is also a mom to three other children – Jordyn’s brothers John and Joshua as well as younger sister Jodie. Just like Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, Elizabeth also tragically lost her husband, John Woods, to cancer. The family patriarch passed away in 2017 and Elizabeth has raised her family as a single mom since. Through it all, Elizabeth and her family has been surrounded by some close Hollywood friends. Among them are P. Diddy and power couple Will and Jada Pinkett Smith who have known Elizabeth and her kids for a long time. Unbeknownst to many, Elizabeth’s husband served as a sound engineer on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air during its entire run, which is how the Smiths became incredibly close with the Woods.
Elizabeth Helped Jordyn Get Through The Kardashian Scandal
Ever since Jordyn got embroiled in the Kardashian drama, Elizabeth has been working overtime to make sure that her daughter gets to discuss her side of the story. This is exactly what Jordyn got to do when she appeared on Jada’s show, Red Table Talk. Jada herself admitted that she was hesitant to interview Jordyn at first since it felt too personal. “It actually wasn’t something I wanted to do because it was very close [to home], but as time transpired, Jordyn was just like, ‘I really need you in this platform’ and Will [Smith] felt like it was supremely important,” the actress later told People. “So, I was like, okay let’s do it.”
Following her Red Table Talk appearance, Elizabeth has also gotten candid about how painful it had been to watch the scandal affect her daughter’s life. “To watch the majority of her friends leave her, not be able to go get services where she got accustomed to going and get bullied by the world,” she posted on Instagram. “I am proud of your strength, your love of family and God and your willingness to every day want to move forward and do something positive, @JordynWoods!!”
At the same time, Elizabeth has also helped Jordyn address her friendship with Kylie after being questioned about the effect of the scandal on their friendship. In a video posted by TMZ, Jordyn was asked if she and Kylie were still friends. And while Jordyn looked rather uncomfortable being put on the spot, her mom was quick to remark, “We love Kylie always.” At the same time, Elizabeth hinted at a possible reconciliation on Instagram saying, “We are praying that friendships can be mended as life is short and no one is perfect. All those who truly know her and us, know that love is all we have to give.”
Meanwhile, Elizabeth has also put a stop on people’s attempt to sell unauthorized merchandise that have materialized following the scandal. “We are well aware that many people have been selling merch. If you are aware of any companies selling merchandise and trying to benefit from our situation, please tag them below,” she wrote on Instagram. “We would like for the world to know that we have not authorized any of this and have not profited from any of these sales whatsoever.”
Today, Elizabeth has remained by Jordyn’s side as much as possible. In the past, she’s also shown her support for Jordyn’s relationship with Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Brown. And while Brown may have recently hinted that he plans to propose to Jordyn, Elizabeth was quick to clarify that the two are not engaged yet even after a flashy ring was spotted on Jordyn’s finger. Instead, Jordyn only wore the ring for a photoshoot. Elizabeth takes being a momager seriously indeed!
