This week's guest on Call Her Daddy is surprising, to say the least. Alex Cooper invited Josie Canseco on to share her story. The host's initial hint was their similar taste in men, Logan Paul.

That wasn't what they spent their hour talking about, though. Canseco opened up about her dynamic with her parents. The model even detailed what it was like to grow up as José Canseco's daughter during his MLB scandal.

Getting Bullied

Her father was known for "ratting out" the MLB for the hush-hush use of steroids and was therefore blacklisted from continuing his baseball career. The former Miami Marlins outfielder then became an infamous snitch, which affected how people treated his daughter.

"All these other players kept making money and kept getting to play, and he didn't. When they were all doing the same thing," Josie explained on the podcast. While she holds her father accountable for other shortcomings in their relationship, she supported the acknowledgment of unfair treatment.

"For so many reasons people were like, 'F*ck your family, f*ck this, f*ck you. Your dad's a snitch, your dad's worthless." Josie was young at the time of the overwhelming amount of press and didn't understand why so many sports fans hated her dad.

She went on about the traumatic harassment she would receive, "I'd be out in public with my dad and people would yell at him. Like people would have the audacity, when we'd be walking in a movie theater..."

Public Outrage At A Young Age

Josie remembered a specific memory seared into her brain when she was having a daddy-daughter day with José, and someone screamed at them, calling her dad a snitch.

Although her dad as she described, always placed money and his career above her, she still looked up to him. No one wants to see their parent humiliated and having to go through that as a child sounds heartbreaking.

She said that he wouldn't educate her about what was really going on because of her age. That was probably his way of protecting her. Regardless, we felt the same way as Alex when she expressed how impossible it was to attempt to put herself in Josie's shoes.

Navigating childhood and teenage years with famous parents caused the influencer to build a tough exterior around her.

Even from only listening to her for a podcast-length of time, we can tell that her emotional intelligence and confidence have helped her through those trying times.
