10 Pencils Of Promise

Founded by Adam Braun in 2008,Pencils of Promise is a non-profit organization that builds schools, and so far, has contributed to the building of 350 schools. The organization runs in Laos, Guatemala, and Ghana. Justin Bieber has served as manager for the organization's operations in Guatemala, and is also the spokesperson for the charity. He donates some of his proceeds from music to the cause.

9 People For The Ethical Treatment Of Animals

The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, also known as PETA, is an organization that advocates for the care of animals. It runs by the slogan: “Animals are not ours to experiment on, eat, wear, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other way.” The organization promotes a vegan lifestyle, urging people to steer away from meat consumption, and is against wearing of fur. Back in 2010, Bieber lent his voice to the cause by telling his fans to adopt pets from shelters.

8 The Gentle Barn

The Gentle Barn is a charity that champions rescuing of animals.Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is known to advocated for everything to do with animals, so, when Justin Bieber appeared on her show back in 2011, he donated his hair. Bieber’s hair sold for a whooping $40,000, all of which went to supporting efforts by The Gentle Barn.

7 Donating Proceeds From His Concerts

In March of 2011, Japan was hit by the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami that was the most powerful ever recorded in the country. The earthquake and tsunami resulted in 19,747 deaths, over 6,000 injuries, and more than 2000 people missing. Bieber happened to be having concerts in Japan, and opted to donate proceeds from his concerts to the Japanese Red Cross.

6 Making Personal Donations

Back in 2011, Justin Bieber made a donation to the tune of $100,000 to Whitney Elementary School, which is located in Las Vegas. The sum was used to aid students who did not have the financial ability to stay in school. In the same spirit, back in 2020, when Bieber was on tour following the release of his album, Changes, he donated $100,000 to a fan who was advocating for mental health.

5 Charity Water

Founded in 2006 by Scott Harrison, Charity Water is an organization that provides drinking water to countries that are underdeveloped. So far, it has funded of 44,000 projects spread in 28 countries. Bieber is one of the celebrities who have supported the cause. Twice on his birthday, Bieber urged fans to donate to the cause through a campaign of Twitter. In 2011 he was named one of the most charitable celebrities of the year.

4 Give Back Philippines

In 2013, Typhoon Haiyan, also known as Super Typhoon Yolanda, befell the Phillipines, killing an estimated 6300 people. It rendered millions of people homeless. In total, it was estimated that over 11 million people were affected by the typhoon. Bieber initiated a campaign dubbed ‘Give Back Phillipines’, where he raised $3 million and travelled to the country. Through his charitable efforts, Bieber earned himself a star on the Philippine Walk of Fame.

3 Covid-19 Relief Efforts

Back in 2020, right before the global pandemic hit, Justin Bieber made a donation to aid in Covid-19 relief in Beijing, China. Later, he and Ariana Grande would collaborate on the song ‘Stuck With U’ under the leadership of Scooter Braun. Proceeds from the song also went towards Covid-19 Funding. Bieber also joined forces with Chance the Rapper and Cash App to donated a sum of $250,000 to help fans who had been affected by the pandemic.

2 Anti-Recidivism Coalition

The Anti-Recidivism Coalition is an organization that offers support to people who have formerly been behind bars. In what Bieber described as a visit he was not bound to forget, he, alongside his now-wife Hailey Beiber paid a visit to the California State Prison. Bieber offered to donate buses to enable ferrying of relatives of prisoners who couldn’t visit due to the pandemic.

1 Support For Victims Of Hurrican Harvey

In August of 2017, Hurrican Harvey affected Louisiana and Texas, leading to 107 confirmed deaths and an estimated $125 billion in damages. Hurricane Harvey also resulted in flooding, rendering many homeless. In an effort to help with relief, Justin Bieber donated $25,000 to the Red Cross. Amongst those who also showed support for victims of Hurricane Harvey was Beyonce, through her BeyGOOD foundation.
