Luca is an animated original feature film, set in an Italian seaside town. The film is a coming-of-age story about a young mer-boy named Luca who goes up to the surface and makes friends, despite plenty of animosity between his world and the human world above them.

Luca is directed by Enrico Casarosa, who first made waves with La Luna, which won an Oscar for Best Animated Short. The titular character is voiced by 14-year-old Canadian actor Jacob Tremblay. The film also features Maya Rudolph and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Tremblay made his career debut in The Smurfs 2, and has starred in Doctor Sleep, Room and Wonder. He has received praise for his acting abilities from both co-stars and audiences alike. He has also won several awards, including the Canadian Screen Award for Best Actor in 2015 and several critics' choice awards.

Tremblay and Bieber have crossed paths in the past, as Tremblay featured in Bieber's music video, Lonely. Tremblay portrayed a young Bieber in the video, which depicted the singer's struggle with global fame from a young age.

Tremblay also had good things to say about the pop star. He told etalk that Bieber was "super nice."

Luca is available to watch on Disney's streaming service, Disney Plus. It is not a part of the Premier Access service, therefore anyone with a Disney Plus membership can view it at no extra cost.

The movie comes shortly after the widely-anticipated release of the Disney Plus feature, Cruella.
