Kanye West continued his string of public declarations about ex-wife Kim on Thursday, as he took to Instagram to share a ‘Thanksgiving Prayer’. The rapper addressed a number of past personal struggles, including his former political affiliations with Donald Trump, which he claimed “Made me and our family a target by not aligning with Hollywood's political stance and that was hard for our marriage.”

He began his speech on the topic by stating “Good Lord, my wife did not like me wearing the red hat. Being a good wife, [Kim] wanted to protect me and our family,” referring to the many times he wore the controversial MAGA hat in public.

Kanye Refers To Infamous Tearful Presidential Campaign Rally

West then seemingly alluded to his first presidential campaign rally, where he infamously announced that he had stopped Kim from aborting their first child North West, causing the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star to take to social media to discuss her ex-husband’s “Bi-polar disorder” for the first time. In his ‘Thanksgiving Prayer’ West expressed his regrets about the episode, saying “I embarrassed my wife in the way that I presented information about our family during the one and only, thank God, press conference.”

Clearly in a sentimental mood, the rapper confessed “All I think about everyday is how I get my family back together and how I can heal the pain that I've caused,” adding “I take accountability for my actions. The one thing that all my successes and failures have in common is me.”

West Admits That His Large Ego, Short Temper And Alcohol Consumption Are A Problem

The Yeezy designer also opened up about his battle with alcohol consumption and his difficulty coping with his self-proclaimed large ego and short temper, also admitting that his ‘self-righteous’ religious behavior has often been an obstacle in his personal life. He continued “My ego has a tendency to go past the threshold of being motivating and entertaining to just being overbearing. There are ways to show confidence without arrogance,” and “Screaming might have helped me tell off everyone who doubted me in music but that screaming did not help me keep my family together.”

However, the ‘prayer’ was not all melancholic self-reflection. West shared his joy at taking son Saint West, 5, to his first ever football match and described how his son is “a mix of two of my favorite things: me and my wife's face.”
