It’s always a disappointment when our plans get ruined. Katy Perry recently expressed some bad news about her SMILE album release in a series of tweets, noting that its due date will be moved up to two weeks from now.

The star’s sixth album is now set to come out August 28, which she assured fans that “the wait will be worth it.” While the star has faced some backlash from followers already, no one is one more disappointed than the singer. Luckily, some of her more “understanding” KatyCats are making an effort to cheer her up.

The Dancing Fan

With several TikTok dance challenges floating around the internet, people are showing off all their best and worst moves. One Katy Perry fan felt “extra gay today” when he decided to showcase his cool dance moves by recreating the choreography for the singer’s music video California Girls. Dubbed one of Perry’s biggest hits of all time, this probably put a huge smile on the star’s face.

The very pregnant star retweeted the fan’s video with the abbreviated caption “ilysm” which stands for “I love you so much.” That’s validation that the fan has just about made Katy Perry’s day. In the retweeted clip, there’s a video of Katy Perry’s California Girls music video playing alongside the fan who nails every dance step. Kind of wondering if this guy is a professional dancer or not. Katy Perry should definitely give this fan a call and make him one of her backup dancers.

Other Fans Started Dancing Out To Katy Perry Tracks

Katy Perry’s apparent superfan wasn’t the only one attempting to put a smile on the star’s face. Other followers soon joined in, attempting to start the unsuccessful hashtag trend #LeaveKatyPerryAlone. While their efforts didn’t bring about any real results, the fact that many of her fans banded together to raise her spirits is truly a kind gesture. More fans even started posting videos of themselves dancing out to other Katy Perry tracks like Teenage Dream. Not only did this fan give an at-home performance of the song but he also sang along to the concert version, writing the following tweet “Taking it back to Witness: The Tour.”

Everyone likes a good nostalgic Katy Perry song. Nonetheless, the KatyCats proved they were there for the singer through the bad and the good times.
