Not only is he a revered actor, but Reeves is simply one of the most endearing human beings on this Earth. That’s because he’s nothing like any other leading man.

Outside of his Hollywood work, Reeves is a true humanitarian. Over the years, the distinguished actor has been more than happy to give aid to various organizations that support all kinds of causes.

And when he extends financial support, Reeves does so out of his own pocket.

Keanu Reeves Is Probably The Nicest Guy In Hollywood

Throughout his Hollywood career, Reeves has been known for doing all sorts of nice things for others.

For instance, Sandra Bullock, his co-star in Speed (and The Lake House later on), recalled a time when the actor gifted her champagne and truffles after Bullock mentioned she had never had a truffle. “He said, ‘I just thought you might want to try Champagne and truffles, to see what it’s like,’” the Oscar winner recalled during an interview with Esquire.

Meanwhile, Reeves’ kindness and generosity were also evident even on the set of films that he’s worked on.

For instance, the actor gifted each of the 12 stuntmen on The Matrix Reloaded their very own Harley-Davidson bike. “We were all in this thing, and we were training together beforehand,” the actor explained in an interview, according to Cox News Service. “I just wanted ... to give a bigger thank-you to all these guys who helped me make this, I think, one of the great movie fights in the history of cinema.”

More recently, Reeves surprised his four-team with Rolex Submariner watches for their work on John Wick: Chapter 4. The watches were even engraved with personal messages for each of the stuntmen. One of the recipients was Jeremy Marinas, who referred to his Rolex as the “best wrap gift ever.”

At the same time, Reeves has also reportedly given financial aid to crew members who could really use some cash.

“A family friend builds movie sets, doesn’t design, is one of the poor dudes that just builds,” one Reddit user revealed. “Anyways he worked on the set for The Matrix and Keanu heard about family trouble he was having and gave him a $20,000 Christmas bonus to help him out.”

Does Keanu Reeves Give His Money Away?

Aside from gifting crew members, Reeves has also been known to readily share his earnings with some of the people he’s worked with. In fact, the actor even gave as much as $75 million from his earnings on The Matrix to people who worked tirelessly on the film’s costumes and special effects.

“He felt that they were the ones who made the movie and that they should participate,” a movie exec explained, according to Cheat Sheet. In the end, the crew members reportedly received about $1 million each.

For Reeves, it only made sense to share his earnings since film crews are like family to him. “Every film set gives me the feeling that I’m part of a new family and I feel fortunate to be able to have a job that gives me a lot of satisfaction,” the actor even once remarked during an interview with SCMP.

Keanu Reeves Has Also Supported Several Charities Over The Years

Over the years, Reeves has also readily supported several causes close to his heart. In fact, the actor has lent support to organizations such as PETA and Stand Up to Cancer.

More recently, Reeves also teamed up with the organization Camp Rainbow Gold, an organization dedicated to helping children who have been diagnosed with cancer and their families. In an online auction that would help Camp Rainbow Gold with its fundraising efforts, Reeves offered to do a 15-minute Zoom call with the highest bidder.

At the same time, Reeves has also quietly established his very own charitable organization. It is likely that the actor made the decision to open one after one of his sisters was diagnosed with leukemia in the 90s.

“I have a private foundation that’s been running for five or six years, and it helps aid a couple of children’s hospitals and cancer research,” Reeves revealed during an interview with Ladies Home Journal back in 2009. “I don’t like to attach my name to it, I just let the foundation do what it does.”

Even today, Reeves is the kind of man who generously gives without wanting anything in return. After all, that’s exactly what the nicest man in Hollywood would do.
