Keanu Reeves Almost Didn’t Become An Actor

Before becoming an actor, Keanu Reeves considered a career as a professional hockey player. Unfortunately, an injury crushed that dream, but Keanu ended up finding another career path in acting.

In 1999, Reeves went on to star in the Wachowski’s sci-fi action film The Matrix as Neo. This is one of Keanu’s most iconic roles till this day. In 2019, Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, admitted to that they had been trying for years to get the John Wick actor on the MCU.

"We talk to him for almost every film we make," Feige said. "I don't know when or if he'll ever join the MCU, but we very much want to figure out the right way to do it."

Although Keanu Reeves has rejected being in Marvel movies in the past, things might change for good. Recently, Keanu talked with Jimmy Kimel about his love of comics and his new project, the comic book BRZRKR. He also admitted there’s a Marvel character he’s always wanted to play since he was ten: Ghost Rider.

"It's really cool, you know, I think the way the Marvel films have developed into what they are is really spectacular, and it would be great to be a part of that," Reeves admitted.

Does this mean we’ll get to see Keanu Reeves join the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon? Fans can only hope so. For now, they can rest happy knowing that Keanu is reprising his role in the upcoming Constantine sequel for D.C. Comics.
