After Ripa and Consuelos' wedding, it didn't take the couple very long at all to add to their family. After all, Ripa gave birth to the couple's first child, their son Michael, the year after they pledged to spend the rest of their lives together.

Why Kelly Ripa Was Surprised To Be Attracted To Mark Consuelos
Before Ripa was one of the most famous daytime talk show hosts in the world, she was an actor looking for her big break. Fortunately for her, she wound up earning the opportunity to star in the soap opera All My Children for several years.
When a show is trying to cast a new character, they sometimes have one of the series' stars read lines with the actors they are strongly considering. During Ripa's All My Children tenure, she was asked to do that at least once.
In 1995, Consuelos got the chance to audition for an All My Children role. Luckily for him, the show's producers asked Ripa to read lines with Consuelos during his audition process.
In 2014, Consuelos was interviewed by the Huffington Post and got the opportunity to speak about when he first met Ripa. Based on what Consuelos said about his first impression of Ripa, even though he was focused on his audition, Mark clearly was attracted to her immediately.
"I thought she was adorable, hot and s*xy and all that stuff. But I was very focused -- I didn't really think I had a chance with her, so I wasn't really focused on that."
For her part, Ripa spoke to Elle about falling for her husband Consuelos in 2013. During that interview which featured Ripa and her husband, Kelly revealed she was surprised by what made Consuelos so attractive to her.
"I was drawn to Mark because he was positively an alpha male, and I didn't think I would be drawn to that. But I just worship him. He makes me feel very safe."
