Feuds are as old as time, especially among the rich and famous. Most recently, however, they've started to cost more than just the feelings of those involved.

Kevin Durant, small forward for the Brooklyn Nets, found himself in hot water of Friday, April 2nd. He was fined fifty-thousand dollars by the National Basketball Association for offensive direct messages he sent to actor Michael Rapaport, after Rapaport exposed the messages on his Twitter feed.

The messages, which contained both homophobic and misogynistic language, according to Nets Wire, were part of an Instagram exchange the two had over the course of days.

For his part, Durant was quick to apologize. "I’m sorry that people have seen the language that I used. That’s not what I want people to see or hear from me, but hopefully I can move past it and get back out there on the floor.”

Durant is expected to return to gameplay next week, according to Steve Nash, but a specific date hasn't been announced.

As for Rapaport, he had this to say about the feud, posting a video to his Twitter account.

It's clear that these two want nothing more than to put the whole situation behind them, and hopefully they'll move on with a clearer understanding of just how costly words can be when someone else can prove you said, texted, tweeted or posted them on any form of media.
