We're all well aware, Leonardo DiCaprio is at the very top of Hollywood when it comes to revenues earned per film. However, that doesn't mean that the actor is immune to serious injuries on-set, like we've seen with so many other actors in the past.

A particular scene in the film was quite aggressive with Leo bleeding from his hand. Some fans would even suggest that he bled on co-star Kerry Washington in 'Django Unchained'. Nonetheless, we'll revisit that moment and take a look at how it all played out. To Leo's credit, it did not stop his momentum one bit, as he continued the scene as if nothing happened.

Although the Quentin Tarantino flick was very hard to watch at times, 'Django Unchained' was a huge success at the box office, bringing in over $425 million.

It was a cast filled with stars, featuring Jamie Foxx as Django, along with DiCaprio in a different role, this time around he was a villain, portraying the role of Calvin Candle. Although he was fantastic in the role, Leonardo DiCaprio had some serious reservations about the film and in fact, he needed convincing from the likes of Samuel L. Jackson and Jamie Foxx.

Leo revealed that instantly when he would read the script of the film, he felt as though it was too far.

"The initial thing obviously was playing someone so disreputable and horrible whose ideas I obviously couldn't connect with on any level."

"I remember our first read through, and some of my questions were about the amount of violence, the amount of racism, the explicit use of certain language... My initial response was, 'Do we need to go this far," the actor Yahoo News.

He put on quite the performance and in addition, he was masterful in a particular scene given the circumstances.

The Cast And Crew Were In Shock When The Moment Took Place In Django Unchained

No, it was not planned for Leonardo DiCaprio to completely slice his hand on a glass, and then start to bleed really badly... though in truth, it does seem to be something to come out of a Tarantino flick...

The moment was totally accidental and what is that much more remarkable, is how the cameras kept on rolling like nothing ever happened.

A producer for the film Stacey Sher recalled the moment alongside Variety.

"Leo had slammed his hand on the table countless times and he moved his hand further and he crushed a crystal cordial glass," "Django" producer Stacey Sher also recently told Variety.

"Blood was dripping down his hand. He never broke character. He kept going. He was in such a zone. It was very intense. He required stitches."

Despite the darkness of the role, Leo crushed it on so many levels and in addition, the fans praised the actor for his poise in the scene.

In what should not come as a surprise, fans praised DiCaprio for not breaking during the scenes. Via platforms like YouTube, the fanbase discussed the scene, as the clip went viral with more than three million views.

"The fact he turned down this role because of his morals. Then was talked into doing it by Jamie Fox is incredible. He thought it would have ruined his career. Instead, sold an incredible character and possibly his finest performance. How he didn't win a award for this role is beyond me. Unbelievable."

"The fact that he actually cut his hand and never broke character. Incredible."

"This was DiCaprio's best performance IMO. He made Calvin Candie legitimately terrifying to watch. Even when he's not yelling, just the look in his eyes makes you tense. Probably the best bad guy portrayed of all time."
