The biggest fashion event of the year took place Monday, September 13, as the Met Gala returned for its annual evening of glamour. Celebrities from all mediums gathered to celebrate host, Anna Wintour’s event, showing off their avant-garde take on the 2021 theme: “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion”.

Amongst, actors, sportsmen, and even members of Congress, music’s biggest names took to the red carpet to show off their unique looks. Stars such as Billie Eilish and Rihanna walked the carpet with style and purpose.

Industry Baby singer, Lil Nas X was also amongst those who strutted the carpet as he made his Met Gala debut. The award-winning musician, stunned fans as he managed to pull off three different looks over the span of the evening.

As he continued to shed layers, he revealed an array of golden outfits that were designed by Donatella Versace.

The first layer was a golden cape, which draped all the way down to the floor. Once shed, the cape revealed a shiny golden armor, which fans joked, reminded them of the Star Wars character, C-3PO. As the armor also came off, Lil Nas revealed a glittering black and gold bodysuit, which hugged his figure as he slayed on the red carpet.

Following the night, Lil Nas took to Twitter to troll fans on the events of the private evening. He wrote, “met gala was fun. I love when they did the Illuminati ritual.”

Following the strange tweet, fans were left divided whether his joke statement was “legendary” or just “embarrassing”.

One fan found the whole thing hilarious and expressed their adoration for the musician. They wrote, “This is why I love this dude. If I was famous I'd be saying s*** like this all the time to f*** with the crazies.”

Whilst another was over his jokes as they stated: “he’s trying way too hard to be controversial.”

However, in an unexpected turn of events, many fans were convinced that the post hadn’t been a joke at all. Many, in fact, fully believed Lil Nas’ words as they spoke out claiming that what he had posted had been nothing but the truth.

For example, one fan wrote, “everyone’s laughing at this as if this isn’t how celebs are extremely blatant + up front abt what’s going on bc they know everyone will pass it off as a joke.”

Whilst another added, “this man be trolling fr lmfao, telling the truth in a sarcastic way to make you think it isn’t true lol…good one.”
