When people first heard of Love Is Blind on Netflix, they began wondering just how real the show is. It seems hard to actually bond with someone and have a real conversation when sitting in a pod and not being able to see their face. But some couples did get married at the end of season 1.

The couples on Love Is Blind did get to plan their weddings, although some details such as the venue were out of their control, and one couple who tied the knot on the show is Amber Pike and Matt Barnett.

The two are still happily together, so let's take a look at what their relationship was like on Love Is Blind.

Lots Of Drama

Amber and Barnett's time on Love Is Blind was full of drama. Once they began chatting in the pods, it was clear that they liked each other, and Amber seemed to be totally head over heels. But while Amber was clearly all in, the same thing can't be said of Barnett as he had some choices to make.

First there was the conflict with Jessica Batten who was engaged to Mark but continued to have feelings for Barnett, which made Amber nervous.

Barnett told Entertainment Weekly that while he was interested in Jessica, along with L.C., he knew that he had to pick Amber. He said, “Amber just had that fire that I needed in my life."

In an interview with The Sarah Scoop Show, Matt Barnett shared a lot about being in the pods and he gave fans some interesting insight on his experience.

Barnett explained that someone asked him if he wanted to be on the show on Instagram, did some interviews, and then joined the show. Barnett said, "The pressure definitely got to me" and he explained that "being emotionally vulnerable" was tough as he didn't do that often.

Barnett also said that once he asked Amber to marry him, she wanted him to "give 100 percent" and he agreed to do that.

Barnett also said that he was used to making "dumb jokes" and that he realized he had to open up more.

Dating On The Show

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Amber and Barnett shared that while they talked about money on Love Is Blind and fans found out that Amber was in debt, not everything made it onto the show. They said that it's a serious and key conversation for couples to have and it couldn't be summed up so perfectly for reality TV.

Amber said, "It’s a little unfortunate that people had such a limited view of that, but I had no regrets about talking about that because I am and always will be an open book. Like I said, I didn’t want to have any kind of false advertising or anything hidden. I wanted to be accepted fully. Matt knew pretty much all of my skeletons when got married."

Barnett shared that he thought Amber would have red hair and Amber told the Los Angeles Times, "I scared him a little bit and he expected me to be like this punk rocker."

Pike told the publication that she got a social media message inquiring if she would appear on a show about dating. While she wasn't sure at first, they said it was real and she was open to finding love: she said, "There’s no reason why I wouldn’t try a dating show. I wasn’t seeing anybody and I’m always open to potentially finding love. So, like, let’s do it. Let’s play the odds."
