In the past, shows like Beauty And The Geek, Naked And Afraid and Dating In the Dark have all had surprising twists that kept fans interested, but this one just seems a little cruel.

The reality show is currently airing in Britain on Channel 4, but has gained the attention of people all around the world.

So, what is The Love Trap? Why are people so interested in it? Here's is everything we know about the new viral dating show.

7 The Premise Of 'The Love Trap'

Like many other dating reality shows, The Love Trap has one bachelor trying to find love among 12 women. Sounds familiar and easy enough, right? However, there are some twists that derails the bachelor's path to love. Comedian and presenter Joel Dommett hosts. At the end of each episode, one contestant is eliminated in a very unusual way. The seven-episode series was filmed in "West-Midlands mansion, The Location House, a 19th Century Grade II-listed manor house, based in the village of Knowle," according to Bustle.

6 The Twist

Although The Love Trap may seem like any other dating show, it certainly has a few twists that have watchers' jaws on the floor. The biggest thing that fans are talking about is that when the contestants are eliminated, they become trapped, literally. The women fall through a trap door and are out of the competition, no longer competing for his love.

Birtwistle, 31, is a personal trainer who did not find love on the previous show, but did make it to the finals. After leaving Too Hot To Handle, the trainer became an ambassador for Nike Training and also launched his own online fitness coaching business called Endeavour Life.
