Who is the love of 50-something actress Lucy Liu's life? Well, at the moment, that's an easy one. It's her 7-year-old son, Rockwell. The bright, smiling little boy steals the heart of anyone who meets him, but what about Lucy's love life? Well, she likes to keep it pretty darn private.

She has been linked to the likes of actor George Clooney and billionaire Noam Gottesman, all while having been engaged once or twice before. But it is hard to know who Liu is really involved with as those she has been in a relationship with do not join her on the red carpet or to other public events. This helps to keep Liu from being fodder for the paparazzi, as there is nothing there to write about.

Liu made her mark as Ling Woo in TV's Ally McBeal. Her big breakout in movies came when she played Alex Munday in the Charlie's Angels franchise. Since that time, Liu has just continued on with her career, with multiple projects due in 2024 and beyond. However, family was also important to Liu, which is why she chose to have a baby via surrogate in 2015. And since that time, by all appearances, Liu has continued to raise her son, Rockwell alone.

In 2000, Lucy Liu was seen out and about with none other than George Clooney. Back then, Clooney was not known to want to settle down and get married given his first marriage to Talia Balsam ended in divorce. As such, Liu was one of the actresses that Clooney dated before he eventually did settle down with Amal Clooney.

Liu and Clooney dated for several months in 2000. It was never a serious thing, but the chemistry was reportedly there. After a while, they drifted apart. When that happened, Clooney moved on to Bridget Jones actress Renee Zellweger and Liu kept busy with Ally McBeal.

Around that time, rumors that Liu might be bisexual began to pop up. Liu sort of hinted at it in 2003, when she told Jane magazine:

"I think people sometimes get the wrong impression when they're like, 'Oh, well, so-and-so was straight and then she was gay, and now she's straight again,' you know?" Liu explained. "But it's like, how many times do I have to kiss a woman before I'm gay? Everybody wants to label people."

Liu went on to say, "Sometimes you just fall in love with somebody, and you're really not thinking about what gender or whatever they happen to be. I think that if I happen to fall in love with a woman, everyone's going to make a big deal out of it. But if I happen to fall in love with a man, nobody cares."

Liu never explicitly stated what her sexuality is and given the level of privacy she likes to keep, Liu likely never will.

One of Liu's longer-term relationships that the public knew about was with Will McCormack. He was the man in her life for three years between 2004 and 2007.

As usual, Liu didn't have much to say about their relationship. They were most often snapped at "public" red carpet events. Both were so busy with TV and movie commitments, that the relationship never really had a chance. As such, in 2007, the two parted ways.

By 2010, Liu was linked with Israeli hedge fund billionaire Noam Gottesman. There are not very many snaps of the two together for one very good reason: Gottesman employed 24/7 security guards to make certain he and his love weren't snooped on.

The paparazzi were going nuts trying to get pictures of the couple. But they mostly hung out in his 12,000 square-foot Manhattan mansion, a mansion that Gottesman paid $34 million for.

Rumor has it that the two also lived it up at his estate in Hampshire, England. Gottesman was known for his lavish parties that superstars such as Beyoncé and Jay-Z attended.

Liu became a mother one year after her split from Gottesman. She received a lot of flack for using a surrogate to carry her son Rockwell. But Liu clapped back at the trolls telling them she was simply too busy to take the time off. Besides she was in her mid-40s and any pregnancy would have been pretty high-risk.

Rockwell is, according to Liu "a rainbow of light". He is a happy and upbeat kid. Liu says motherhood has turned her world upside down but in a very happy way.

Whether there is anyone in Liu's life to help her raise Rockwell has not been disclosed. But, by all accounts, Liu seems content in her life.
