In an interview with ET Canada, the interviewer asked Ludacris what he's like as a dad, considering so many people see him as an animated and colorful personality.

"That's literally how I am, I'm the same way," he laughs, "Always energetic, always the life of the party and I think it rubs off on my kids. They never want to go to sleep."

Ludacris cherishes his life as 'the fun dad' and how that plays into raising four daughters. Then, mid-interview, one of his youngest girls walks into view of the camera, and he scoops her up onto his lap.

"We were just talking about what kind of dad I am. Am I a good dad?" he asks her. She gives a shy, "Ya," then scurries out of the room.

The rapper then explains what inspired him to start Kid Nation, an online platform that uses music to teach kids about current events.

"It was actually my oldest daughter. When she was six years old she used to come into my studio and say 'Daddy I want to rap.'" Ludacris finally let her into the studio and saw a crazy amount of potential, but made an agreement if she chose to pursue rapping.

He told her that if she wanted to do music, she would have to rap about what goes on in her world, just like how he does with his own music, "That's pretty much just ethics, morals, school and education of course."

It's clear that Ludacris' children are his world by the way he talks about them and how much effort he puts in to teach them how to maneuver through life.

He wants them to learn how to, "Always be strategic, continue to evolve. Educate yourself until the day you expire from this Earth," he says, "Don't tip-toe through life just to arrive safely at the end of your days. Take chances, take calculated risks."

He lists off pieces of advice one after the other, each one more thoughtful than the last. One of them is the necessity to love oneself before loving someone else. From just a few minutes of listening to his experience as a father, it's clear that Ludacris and his wife Eudoxie are doing a great job at raising their beautiful family.
