Bryan and Perry have been starring as judges on American Idol since 2018

Country singer Luke Bryan infamously gifted his American Idol co-judge Katy Perry a BB gun.

In February this year, the I Kissed A Girl singer explained Bryan gave her a BB gun for her baby daughter Daisy Dove. Perry and her fiancé, actor Orlando Bloom, welcomed their first child together in August 2020.

Now Bryan explained why he gave Perry’s daughter this bizarre gift.

Luke Bryan On Why He Gifted Katy Perry’s Daughter Daisy A BB Gun

It’s all in the name, apparently. Or so it seems for Bryan, who told Jimmy Kimmel why he gifted a BB gun to Daisy. And not just any gun.

“A Daisy BB gun!” Bryan said on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

“I mean, it just seemed to be the right gift,” the What She Wants Tonight singer said.

But will Perry ever actually give the BB gun to her daughter? That’s unlikely, and Bryan seems to be fully aware of that.

“[The gun]’ll never see the light of day,” he said.

“Maybe under lock and key,” he continued.

Katy Perry On The Best And Weirdest Baby Gifts She Received From Friends

In an interview with Kimmel earlier this year, Perry talked about a few baby gifts she received from her famous friends.

Among her favorite presents, she included a floral embroidered blanket she got from singer Taylor Swift. The blanket has the words “Baby Bloom” and a flower embroidered in one corner.

“It was amazing, it was very, very thoughtful,” Perry said.

Her co-judges on American Idol, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan, gave her “very Lionel and Luke gifts,” she said. But the BB gun wasn’t the only item baby Daisy received from Bryan.

“Lionel gave her a really nice robe and then a bottle of champagne for mom and dad,” Perry said.

“And then, Luke gave her a, uhm, pink tractor and a Daisy BB gun,” she continued.

Katy Perry described motherhood as “the best decision I’ve ever made in my entire life.”

She first announced her pregnancy during the music video accompanying her single Never Worn White, released in March 2020. The song is included in her sixth studio album, Smile. The lead single Daisies, released in May of the same year, was a hint to her baby daughter’s name.
